What do you guys mean when you say wrist support? I’m quite interested in them, CGBPs kill my wrists
How close are you holding? If you go super close, yea its gonna hurt. CGBP is slightly under shoulder width. My index finger pretty much sits on the last bit of knurling on the bar.

I move each arm about an inch closer to the other, this means that my index fingers are just outside the central knurling of the bar

Yeah I use a narrower grip on flat bench than incline for the sake of my shoulders, much less stress on the rotator cuff that way.
I hadn’t heard this before. I have a pretty immense wing span with paper thin wrists, and I tend to use a wide grip on the bench because it feels more comfortable on my wrists. That said I have started having some shoulder pain when benching, especially on the incline dumbbell press.
You guys talking about strapping up your wrists, I assume you mean elasticated supports rather than PL style straps? This sort of thing Maximuscle | The UKs Original Sports Nutrition & Supplements | Maximuscle® right? If so do you wear them for everything or just pressing/curling? Do they not stop you developing wrist strength?
You’re far from alone OP. I’m 6’-1", have super long arms and thin wrists. Shit happens, just deal with it the best way possible. You can still put some decent numbers up and size on.
Another poster had a good point, less ROM with deads.
If you work at it slowly you’ll get some good bench numbers too. I can put up over 315 with my lanky arms.
Let me know if you find a small wrist cure though…I’ve done grip work and shit and nothing has helped.
Kingbeef and Mateus you can add me to the list of people who knows what its like to have to hold on the bar for a bit after sets of bicep curls and bench press. It was a huge limiting factor when i was younger, weirdly it went away last year. Weirdest of all i have 8 inch wrists…
