Arnold Vs. Ronnie

Inspiring. I play linebacker and that just gave me a boost. So did Jack Lambert take steroids?[/quote]

According to Jim Haslett the whole team did.

They’re not “recent” by any stretch. To the best of my knowledge those pictures, real or not, were pre-Terminator 3.

Arnold all the way! Arnold got big in the rules, he didn’t have to break the law or set bad examples for kids. He juiced but according to him not much, I also think a doctor performed the injections.

Ronnie on the other hand looks like hes injected himself with so much junk his veins will explode (I know you don’t inject juice into the vein). Ronnies also a cop, and a lier. He never fesses up to taking steroids like Arnold did. Hes a bad example for the kids.

I can’t let this one go for the life of me. Arnold had a fantastic physique first off, but to say he didn’t break any rules/laws is delusional at best.

Why does Ronnie have to “fess up” about taking drugs when other athletes don’t? How do you know his protocal isn’t supervised by a doctor or that he takes so much, do you live in his house?

Scott,
In the 70’s… whatever it was he took “dinabol” or whatever was LEGAL. And I believe Arnold took “whatever” for fat loss. Sure Arnold had some help, but he kept it realistic. These roid monsters of toady are just a disgrace to all those classic bodybuilders of tha past. Just my opinion. But, these guys ruin the sport as far as I’m concearned. I thought we were trying to make the body beautiful …not disgusting.

Arnold …much more honest about taking barley anything and shit that was legal at the time.

Ronnie …is pumped so full of roids & BS that his head will explode any minute now. And a cop too, would he get kicked off the police force for breaking the law.

I guess Ronnie is all NAT-
chure-AL… huh? LOL

The compairson isn’t even close.

Its ashame that Arnold’s name ever got brought up with Ronald’s in the same sentence or thread anyway. Damn you austin_bicep. No comparrison!

arnold has fessed up to taking D-bol and was very open about it all of his life drugs and when he was bodybuilding it was LEGAL to use roids.

The idea of sleeping with Ronnie Coleman grosses me out; it would be like mating with a different species, he’s so far off the scale of normal human proportions. And that gut…ugh.

Arnie, on the other hand…he makes my loins stir.

And isn’t that what’s really important?

Oliva and Zane > them both.

sergio olivia

Ha! Yes, I’m DragonMAMMA, emphasis on the Mamma.

The word “loins” may have been misleading–that word is usually used in reference to males. I just went to define: loins on Google, which gave me this definition:

pubes: the lower part of the abdomen just above the external genital organs

the region of the hips and groin and lower abdomen

Cheers

Ronnies a beast.I had the pleasure of lifting right next to him awhile back. But i go Arnold,Hes the king

The difference in waistlines settles the issue for me, and as I already stated…
"Arnold was clever. He admired Reg Park’s shape, but knew his height was more in line with Steve Reeves. People forget the fact that Arnold was critisized early on for his proportions (and 4 pack abs) in comparison to Reeves, and this is where Arnold was clever, because he knew many people were shocked when they saw Reeves in person, not realizing how huge he was.

Reeves proportions were so perfect that he did not seem as big as he actually was in photos or on film. Arnold knew he would have to, like a sculptor, create slight disproportions to obtain the goal of looking huge in person and in photos/film. Arnold sculpted a combination of both Reg and Reeves’s physiques, with his own spin on huge bi’s, thereby setting a new and unique standard for the taller man. Arnold “broke the rules” and got away with it…Arnold was clever"…

Agreed,no doubt about it!! That’s what I thought I alluded to about his sculpting and big arm “fetish”…He made that extra size work for him from our view, but he caught flak from a lot of BB “experts” back then who complained these very things “ruined” a symmetrical shape on his frame, a’la Reeves.

Arnold understood that if you are over 6foot, you need to exaggerate things a bit here and there to be shockingly impressive in person and in photos/film… Rory Leidelmeyer is another example of this, he was/is taller at slightly over 6’1" and shredded, hyooge’,carrying abs, with exaggerated lats, pecs, shoulder girdle (V-taper)…

Ronnie has bettr bodybuilding genetics. Arnold’s clavicles sloped downward too much, denying him square shoulders (I’m being VERRRRY nitpicky here). He also had naturally wide waist and hips, which is why he always twisted his body as often as he could.

Head-to-Head, Ronnie would probably still win, losing only the posing. Just to much genetically for Arnold to overcome.

But we should judge atheletes in their own eras, and Arnold ruled his like no other, number of Olympias be damned. None of these guys today would be where they are had there been no Oak!

Gimme Serge Nubret or The Myth any day!

Why is Lee Haney always, always overlooked in these debates. Haney opened the door for the mass monsters, was the first step away from the arena Schwarzenegger competed in (and helped develop) towards that of the Colemans. You cant have a discussion like this without using Haney as reference, since he is the dominant link between the two.

?? Maybe I missed what you were trying to say, but Park and Schwarzenegger are the same height, 6’2".
