Arnold Classic

Who is going to the Arnold this year it starts march the 5th.It you havent been it is worth checking out.Let me know…thanks

I will probably be there for one day this year. It is pretty close for me and usually pretty fun, although I had much less fun this past year for some reason.

Any advice what day is the best to go?
What day is best for free crap?

I am driving up Thursday night from INDY and hitting it early Friday, might stay for Sat depends. Friday and Sat are the best days for all the free stuff IMO.

I might be going just for the bodybuilding/figure day. Never been before, let alone any BB comp, so it should be fun!

Me and the missus are going again this year. We went last year and had a rockin’ time. Fri and Sat are the best days for swag but be prepared to stand in line for the more popular booths. This year we are focusing Sat on watching the amateur shows and the booths are secondary.

Be prepared to have your patience tested though - the amount of tunnel vision, pushy, rude idiots is astounding. Another thing on Sat is the Strongman show. My highlight from last year, I got to meet the man, the legend - Bill Kazmaier.

free stuff?

sunday before they pack it up

like

right before the doors close

I’ve been once before and plan to go this year. Since I’m not into the free stuff, can’t offer any advice about that. I think this year I’ll get tickets to the main BB contest. Haven’t been to a big show in a while (GNC in Atlanta in 2004 was the last).

Based on last year, that is hit or miss. We were looking for a few certain things (ex. casein samples) and decided not to fight the hour-long lineups at a couple of booths. Sunday morning, they were completely tapped out. That said, some booths were giving it away like mad on Sunday.

One other thing I missed out on by waiting was a particular souvenir t-shirt - I decided to wait until Sun and the only sizes left would fit a Biggest Loser hopeful or a 2-year-old.

I’ll be there. Hopefully working for Muscular Development. Went last time and covered the show for another website. Let me tell you, it’s fun when you can get behind the scenes

The company I work for has a booth every year so I will be there. Too bad I’ll be working. We retail fitness equipment in central Ohio and we also supply the Pump and Run benches, bars, and weight. If anybody goes make sure you visit of friend The Cookie Cop. He’s a former police officer injured in the line of duty. He makes the highest quality protein cookies out there.

yeah I think I’m still going, depends on how much money I have.

BUMP!

ok who’s going?! wanna bro out?

still going. waking up in 6 hrs to start the drive and beat rush hour.

Ok! Well I feel like I’m the only guy who wants to talk about the Expo, but let’s do this!

I saw Arnold, Sylvester Stallone, Branch, Dex, Jay, Vic Martinez, Lou Ferrigno, Derek Poundstone, Jamie Eason, Brandon Curry, Randy Couture and got signed pictures from Frank Zane, Lacey Lynn and Big Sean Allan. AWESOME.

It was packed and I’m pretty sure that there were new rules about not handing out free stuff this year, because all the booths were really sneaky about how they were passing things out – in plastic bags, wrapped in pamphlets and kept behind the counters and what not.

Hottest booth girls: “Oh yeah! Protein Shakes”

Best giveaways: Monster Milk Amino packets or Species shaker bottles

Most Pumped up booths: (company that cannot be spoken of) and a tie between a company that rhymes with Dee-ess-emm and nutrabolics

Biggest Motherfucker seen: Either Derek Poundstone, Sean Allan or a powerlifter I didn’t recognize

I had a great, draining time walking around and watching stuff for about 8 hours.

WHAT’S REALLY GOOD THOUGH?!

Was Sean Allen in contest shape of off season?

lol woops.

I wouldn’t say contest shape, judging by just his arms it was one head of the tricep visible and massive bicep vein. Again, definitely “off-season” bf levels but still leaner than most guys.

I’d never seen the man in person before, so I was kind of taken aback. Pictures really don’t do him justice. The man is fucking enormous.

I second that free shit comment, I didn’t really try to get free stuff but I didn’t see many booths handing out stuff either.

I was (always am) pissed that they make you jump through hoops and mosh pits for a t-shirt…and when you get it its a fuckin’ Large

Its a damn convention for athletes damn it! give us xx and xxx L shirts!

And for free stuff

NO!!! They don’t “give” it to you…you have to talk it out of them and make them like you. Put some bass in your voice when talking to the models…point at a girl’s ass when talking to the guy at the booth and make a joke…tell him you use his company’s product (even though you’ve never heard of them lol)

I got 2 of my Animal hats and shirts free because I bought a shirt and a A-Pak…even got that on crazy discount (guy asked what I had in my pocket not allet and took it for the Apak) because my brother was talking to the guy about how their image is THE MOST bad ass in the biz…think of it as bargaining,

if you don’t talk to them and “get to know them” they wont give you shit…We stayed at the Animal area the whole time and laughed at people walking around trying to flex.
