Arnold Classic Update

Hello everyone from Columbus
I’m going to give some quick snipets of events so far.
These are opinions/observations, not personal attacks.
God I love ridiculously augmented women, this place is a treasure trove.
Big, strong men sleep with big beautiful women(fortunate fucks)
Nichole Bass is absolutely scary, she looks horrible. I remeber TC’s description of her from his rolodex ramblings(one of his best, IMHO)
Slammed a drink called shock wave, literally had a niacin titration 3 mg. below lethal, I was absolutely fucking miserable for 35 minutes. Westside men are huge, cliquish, and not that friendly. Frank Zane looks terminally ill. My dad is his age, smokes, drinks HEAVILY, and has never lifted a weight, yet looks “better”. Years of heavy androgens and fake baking will add years and years and years to your face(this is not in reference to Frank, but many of the other pros, that looked nothing like this at the 2002 Olympia, WOW. Pavel is a class act, friendly helpfull, none of that comrade this, comrade that BS. I was very impressed with him. Two men did 5 reps with Appollon’s axle(366 lbs, I believe, again fucking WOW) IDS spokesman is the biggest so far, mind boggling 6’6" close to 400 and striated. Massaging device called the stick, very effective, T-jack worthy, 40 bucks. Did I mention the augmentation, 40 ZZZ, and closing in on perfection. Massage chair, very, very cool and VERY expensive, this was NOT a mere vibrating chair. It rocked. Numerous protein drinks tasting like unsweetened chemical Kool-aid to somewhat palatable to various lackluster protien bars(HONESTLY, we have the very best in GROW, I mean it, I tried 20-30, watermelon, grape, tropical lust. Mediocre at best. This whole thing ranges from fascinating, to absurd, to WTF am I doing here? JAVA FIT coffee 20 bucks for 12 ounces? Luckily the spokeswomen find me so inconsequential I’m able to do a right about face from one end of the counter to the other and help myself to about 15 samples.Whoohoo anonymity!!The olympic lifting crowd are very friendly and helpful. Watching individuals perform the snatch 1000 times is a great start. The women here are so outrageous it reminds of a saying of an old friend of mine, “This chick was so hot, I’d have sucked the last dick that fucked her”. I may check back on this thread tommorrow, let me know if I can do any vicarious sleuthing for any of the Nation. I apologize for my numerous grammatical errors.

What’s going on over at the T booth? Anything noteworthy?

Thanks for the update. I was there today too and I agree with just about everything you said. Is this the huge guy you were talking about (sorry my pics turned out a little blurry? He was really nice but made me feel so damn small!

And here’s a little of the Frank Zane action. He has always had a physique I really admired and have always used him as an inspiration but I thought he was looking a little bad too. That’s a shame.

That’s a big boy. Damn…

I attended the Arnold Expo in Columbus, Ohio early on Saturday. GO EARLY in the day to avoid the larger crowds arriving in the afternoon. There were definitely fewer freebies than in previous years, undoubtedly due to the state of the economy and the amount of market competition. I was also disappointed with the lack of fashion disasters. Did all the spandex, headbands, ripped shirts, and Zubaz pants from previous years finally end up at Goodwill? There were many, many fitness babes present for ogling. Some of the pectoral implants were as dazzling as the shredded abs on display. Again this year, Beth Horn at the Flex booth had the best attitude and personality, on top of looking ?healthy? and being in great shape. The usual gang was there; Frank Zane, Dorian Yates, Lou Ferigno (who was in excellent condition), Roland Kickinger, Gunter-Mania, and Monica Brant were there on the fitness side. Bill Wallace and Don ?the Dragon? Wilson, were present on the martial arts side. Bill Kazmeyier and Marius Pudzinski (spelling?) were at the MetRx booth?yikes, big and very STRONG boys to say the least. Hollywood was there too?I managed to see Wesley Snipes enter the main ring on the martial arts side, and Arnold himself strolled right past me with bodyguards leading the way. Hmmm?no Biotest/T-Nation booth, and no Torque Athletic/Scott Sonnon booth this year. Bummer! The Dragondoor booth was great again this year. I managed to pick up Pavel Tsatsouline?s new book Beyond Bodybuilidng at a discount, avoid shipping charges, and have it autographed/personalized too. I saw Dorian Yates there with an armload of Dragondoor products and he was chatting it up with Pavel. That would be an interesting collaboration to say the least! I think everyone there had a positive experience. I am lucky to live only an hour away, so there is no reason for me not to shell out $10 to attend the Arnold Expo. It?s cool to meet the fitness celebrities and fellow trainees but better yet, the trip certainly motivates my training for the year. See you all next year!
