One thing I was not aware of. The $15 gets you into the expo all 3 days. But you have to pay extra to see the finals in any of the sports. That was a bummer. I know the whole point is to make money, so I don’t begrudge them that. But you dont find that out till you get to ticketmaster. Felt kind of bait and switch.

Just a cheap guy’s mini rant.

hey basement,

just keep in mind, the 15 dollars gets you into 1 day only, they aren’t reusable. each day is an extra 15 dollar ticket. or you can pay 40, and you get 3 of the 1-day passes, which is what I did. I also have tickets for the final events Saturday night.

Same here. We got the $40 deal for 3 admissions. Luckily there were still seats left for the finals. So I’ll be in the nosebleeds, but I’ll be there damnit (first world problem). I would’ve been too cheap for the $100 close seats anyway.

The descriptions of how the tickets work were much clearer on ticketmaster than on The Arnold page. Luckily I’ve been involved in alot of contract law disputes lately, so I have the skills to buy the tickets. Lmao.

Did you hear about “Rogue record breaker”
I guess the guys are going after some lifts that haven’t been topped in 90 years. Sunday at 11:15

Plagarized from site:
ROGUE RECORD BREAKERS
ROGUE Record Breakers will feature professional strongman and strongwoman competitors in four events. Those who break world records will win $5,000 and his or her performance will be submitted to the Guinness Book of Records

WEIGHT OVER BAR
Hafthor Bjornsson
Hafthor will try and toss the 56-pound ringweight over a 20-foot bar.

CYR DUMBBELL
Mateusz Kieliskowski, Brian Shaw, and Dimitar Savatinov
The three challengers will attempt to lift a 315-pound dumbbell overhead for repetitions, with at least one repetition qualifying as a new world record. In 2017, Kieliskowski set the world record with two reps at 310 pounds.

HENRY ‘MILO’ STEINBORN ROCKOVER SQUAT
Martins Licis

SLATER STONES
Leifa Ingalls (USA), Olga Liaschuk (Ukraine), Donna Moore (United Kingdom), Kristen Rhodes (USA)
Challengers, all of whom are also competing in the Arnold Pro Strongwoman contest, will battle for $5,000 in a Slater Stones event. Competitors will lift a 309-pound stone over a 44-inch bar. Those who complete the feat will attempt to do the same with a 324-pound stone for reps.

What’s the record here?

I believe for the women it is 324 for a single. So if they do it for reps that’s a world record.

so… anybody else google those strongwomen to see if any were hot?

I prefer the women’s arm wrestlers… love a woman with a good grip.

I always wanted to know what it felt like to have my dick ripped from my body

I think Leifa’s pretty hot. I follow her on IG.

They’ve done the record breaker stuff on Sundays before. In the past, Shaw has done Atlas stone over bar for new records, I think at least a couple years. I think Hafthor did one last year as well, can’t remember what he did.

I checked, but nope, they don’t usually have booths at bodybuilding shows. I think they might’ve done an Olympia or two in the past, but that’s about it.

JF Caron did a huge tire one year (1350 pounds?)

I think Hafthor’s done a weight over the high bar record.

They did a one-arm snatch attempt with an old-school globe barbell.

A couple guys also took a crack at the circus dumbbell record. I thought Mateusz may have broken the record? 310 pounds, maybe?

Ah well. It’d be interesting to see if our online exchanges would mirror the in-person ones. If you made poor Mr. Wendler man the booth it would be entertaining:
Nooby #187: “Can I change absolutely everything about your program and still see the same results?”

Wendler: “I will cave your skull with this bottle of plazma if you don’t leave this table right now.”

It was 312 but I think “312 pounds, maybe?” is how it went down in the record books lol

Note: this has been surpassed by Dimitar now

BTW, I have put my hands on one of these 300+ lbs dumbbells.

It is seriously mindblowing

FYI - elitefts is selling 4 hour blocks to their S5 gym over the Arnold weekend for $30 (with a t-shirt and a couple random things). I’m going tomorrow morning.

Alrighty guys. We’re almost to the Arnold! I’ll be arriving early afternoon tomorrow and heading straight to the convention center. I’ll also be there most of the day Saturday and Sunday, and I’ll be at the evening festivities Saturday.

My IG name is Tiptonstrong. If anyone wants to message me on there and try to meet up, that would be the easiest way to go about it. Or if you see me, say hi! You can call me Flipcollar, or Charlie. I will respond to either. I currently have a pink mohawk. I’ll also look far smaller in person than I do in pictures. Keep in mind I’m only 5’11 and 195 lbs, lol.

Noted. I’m a stocky 5’10" white guy with brown hair and a beard. Also a giant noggin. Lol.
