So, I wonder who would win in a fight between him and Mariusz.

I was thinking the same…even though Hulk is doing boxing…but still.

That looked quite solid. After that KSW thing, I was reluctant to watch the next strongman compete in combat sports, but I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least.

Between him and Pudz, it’d have to be MMA, though.
Which, I suspect, Pudz would still win (hate to say so).

Still, I think in a pro-MMA league, Mariusz would get his… head handed to him on a silver platter.
We’ll see.

wow just watched the fight…that’s a big motherfucker!
damn im jealous lol

IronMind asked Arild Haugen why he had chosen boxing, rather than MMA.

â??I find boxing more exiting for me,â?? Haugen said. â??Maybe I would have advanced faster in MMA because of my strength, but this just makes it more fun with boxing and more challenging for me. I think boxing is the purest and greatest area of fighting sports. The history, money and people talks for itself . . . MMA is quite new but very popular. And if I want to turn to MMA after doing boxing, I can, and I will then be a good boxer who [just] needs the grappling and footwork. I have been fascinated by boxing since I was a child.â??

Great attitude, and he’s taking the sport seriously.

how the hell do small HW’s (225lbs) fight these motherfuckin monsters?!

On a side note: How the hell will Arild pass drug tests?

He is much smarter than Pudz, imo.
MMA is a cacophony of several martial arts.
That means you have to deal with punches, kicks, grabs, throws, knees, etc

Whereas boxing you only worry about your hands.
He’s building his foundation one step at a time, which means if ever he does decide to do MMA, he’ll have a good base to work from.
Pudz on the other hand dove in head first and is doing everything.

Watching the video, how the fuck did that guy get knocked out?
That punch didn’t seem that special. He boxes well though.

yeah he has pretty good movement, i was impressed. I don’t know why Pudz wouldn’t try his shot at boxing because that is one of the disciplines he already has a lot of experience in. In an interview though he said he quit because he didn’t like getting hit in the face.

Although I think Arild will eventually go to MMA as well…I don’t know what weight he fights at in boxing and such…but overtime when the competition gets greater I don’t think he’ll be able to handle the skill of top boxers.
MMA is a different story though and he can really use his brute strength.

Fuck I can’t believe he is only 23 years old. That’s 3 years older than me!

Why can’t I be taller? lol

There’s also a decade between them. Arild has time to do it the right way.

Dolgos said in a post-match interview that he’d never been hit like that and there was no way he could get back up in time. Now, he may not be a world-beater, but he is a Polish heavyweight professional boxer and probably a relatively tough man. Clearly, there’s some power in those hands.

I was impressed with Arild. He had decent movement and looked real light on his feet for a 265lb man. Can’t wait for the next match.
