Are you the strongest guy at your gym

Where do you rate? I know I’m not and have no idea exactly where. What’s in my favour in some respects is some of the machines aren’t really designed for really big guys so potentially due to the fact i can max a couple of things(whole stack etc) I may be up there

Oh yeah, I’m easily the strongest guy in my gym…

Honestly at the end of the day being the strongest in any gym doesn’t really matter to me, though…although I might make an exception if it’s a Planet Fitness. :eyes: But I train at home 99% of the time so I never think about this at all really, or even care that much in the first place regardless.

You didn’t really have to reply but it was inevitable i suppose. Here for the gym stories sir,I’m using that term sir loosely ,you responded like a woman with that not caring thing

Um…ok? Not really sure how you got that out of my post but whatever.

Why’d you respond when it’s obvious it’s not directed at people who by and large train at home and by themselves. Here for the gym stories sir

Well, the thread title gave no specification and in the absence of any distinguishing clarification between commercial vs. home gyms, I answered the question that was asked.

Plus, I thought the meme was funny…I’m guessing I find that meme funnier than you do, but it’s all good.

Not here to argue sir. Make it a habit of not staying in Ur lane? This thread sucks already. Provide a story

Might be. 95% of the time I’m the strongest, unless some random comes and lifts heavier than me, or if I go at the evening. Biggest lift I saw at the gym was an RDL 190kg for sets of like 6 reps.

At the evening things are different. Strong kids come and start lifting heavy weight. I won’t be surprised if they’re on gear, many at my gym are.

Biggest lift I’ve seen would be a 150 kg for reps overhead, and I’ve talked to a guy a few years ago who claimed a 280 squat and yes most likely. I’m not even in the top half size wise but it’s an indication currently to me,I’m sure noone touches the bench in-between me visiting it every few days. I’ve only been back a couple of weeks this time round and seen nothing outstanding yet.

Pretty crazy. If I would see a “normal” guy doing 150kg ohp for reps I would be pretty shocked, that’s just crazy strength.

Hmm you may be right. Who started this thread, anyway? :eyes: Your comment might be my favorite self-roast I’ve seen in a while…

I guess when we get new threads about stuff that’s really just majoring in the minors, combined with the lack of constructive conversation and RIP the meme I shared thanks to the apparent humor desert so far lol and I’m rather inclined to agree with you on this point.

Very well…I guess I can’t refuse such a reasonable request, now can I? By popular demand…

Once upon a time, I went to the home gym and hit a bench PR. It was then that I realized that I was the strongest person in my gym that day.

The end I love a good happy ending

I was going as a guest to planet fitness for a bit with a couple guys I was training.

There are a few good benchers there, but squats, standing press and deadlift I didn’t see anyone serious, though I was going at 430 am.

I pulled a 475 deadlift there and it drew a crowd. I think at a real gym that would just be a normal occurrence and realistically some people’s warmup

This was my first thought too! I am definitely the strongest person at my gym.:flexed_biceps:

The fact that he is talking about maxing out on a machine stack tells you everything you need to know about this thread.

Mine is a home gym and I can’t even make this claim! Although it is females only from 4 am- 6am and I am the strongest person then. Actually, I’m the strongest female in my gym period. Victory is mine.

It’s a side quest sir. I have almost maxed the cable row on a previous sojourn but I’m too weak from not training it this time around. Some things like the hammer strength shoulder press which could take 5 plates are beyond me. The chest press is yea I know it’s not 140 kgs. I barbell train 99 % of the time at home and was getting bored

Yeah he’s massive. Nice guy too, haven’t seen him for a while. I’ve only joined temporarily, they potentially won’t see me for the rest of the year and it’s pretty quiet around this time. I’ve only got a few weeks left and it’s back to barbell only training at home

Your training log is the place to make proclamations about your kingdom. For the most part I train at home and by myself so of course I have more than a slight tinge of egocentricity, even when I want to go commercial,I’m comparing sizes low-key.

FYI… its Ma’am to be precise.

Well once upon a time I was in our high school weight room. I was on the tennis team ( kind of). I hated going home after school. I happened to find a tennis racket in the corner of one of our barns and the next day walked on the court. The traveling team carried ten players. I was always number eleven.

We used the weight room after practice with other athletes. One afternoon I was watching a baseball player, affectionately known as Fat Rat trying to curl 100 lbs. Fat Rat was getting worked by a barbell he had no business wrestling with. He put the bar down and looked around, looking like he was hoping nobody had watched his struggle. I hated Fat Rat, probably still do. Anyway I walked over sized up the situation and as Fat Rat was pre insulting me for even trying pick the bar up, I curled it with good form before his very eyes. “Fuck you!” He stated as he walked away.

To be fair to Fat Rat I had a barbell, bench, and 150 lbs. of Orbitron weight discs. When I was home, and trying to hide, I would go to my safe space, my very small home gym and curl and bench press. I was still a skinny little shit, but I had the curl down.

So, for one day in my life, I was apparently (measured by the curl) the strongest guy in my high school weight room.

As far as tennis went? My gaffer told me I was wasting my time, called the coach and told him my tennis days were over. I forget the coach’s name, but when school let out for the summer he hunted me down and gave me a certificate of participation. It wasn’t a letter, but it meant something.

I don’t know about strongest dude in the gym, but this was, hands down, the most unexpected response to thread engagement.

I saw a dude smoke a 435 lbs bench, after 425 x 3, the other day without even slowing down on the rep or thinking someone should be near him. Obviously, and heroically, I chose to go do some dips or something rather than bench next to him.
