I’ve been told by a source that man made protein powders and other supplements such as vitamin tablets, are not properly digested and absorbed by the body when compared to ‘natural foods’.
Can anyone confirm or deny? And if confirmed, is the difference significant?
To my understanding, Whey protein has a higher bioavailability than eggs and everything gets rated compared to eggs.
That’s right afaik. I just read about the biological value of proteins and whey rates as 104, eggs 100, egg whites 88 etc etc.
So I’m not where my source gets his information from but it appears to be wrong.

It does indeed appear that way O.o
Liquids are absorbed faster than solids. Solid material must be broken down into small components before it can pass through the lining of the intestine.
So why would liquid protein not be absorbed faster than solid protein? Or less efficiently? Think about it. Better yet, make up a whey shake and drink it while you think about it.
