Berardi attests it takes 1.5 hours for liquid protein ie whey to pass through the digestive tract able to absorb protein while it takes roughly 1 hour to absorb 10g of protein. This means we’re only absorbing 40-50% of our standard protein shakes.

What do you guys think about this?
Depends on what form of whey protein we are talking about here as well as what else is in your system from before or when you consumed the whey. Whey isolate, a real whey isolate, for instance passes through digestion VERY quickly (thus it’s pointless using it at any other time apart from peri workout, unless you add things to it like fiber or some fats to slow down gastric emptying). Whey hydrolysate passes even quicker through digestion.
You also absorb around 90+% of the protein you consume no matter the form. If that was not the case, the majority of us would be pooping out pieces of chicken and steak.

Protein powders are probably either absorbed in larger quantities in a given time or absorbed quicker compared to solid food?
Interesting study btw
Makes sense. Protein powder is not just simply powdered food, it’s also been processed so that most of the fat, carbs, etc. is removed (essentially like as if it has been pre-digested for you).
