is 30% bf @ 300lbs equal to 30% bf @ 200lbs ?
if not why not?
thanks
Math is your friend
30% of 300 is 90
30% of 200 is 60
Wow.
Just; wow.
(I thought I was bad @ maths)
What the two guys said above is correct. If you are asking “Would you rather be 200 lbs @ 30% BF or 300 lbs @ 30% BF?”, I think most people on the boards would take the latter choice. Not sure what you really meant though.
I’m not totally sure, but this may be the most useless thread ever.
Just as a heads up, there is a beginners section where no one would have a problem with this thread.

Yes, they are equal if the same shoe is used.

Brilliant!!!
On a serious note, one thing I have seen on the boards is a complete misunderstanding of the fact that the more muscle you carry, the more fat you may be able to carry without looking “fat”.
Someone at 20% body fat at 150lbs is going to look chubby, weak and untrained. Someone of average height weighing 270lbs at 20% is going to look like a linebacker and no one would be calling him weak or untrained.
Muscle is your friend. Why it has become secondary to worrying about body fat lately is lost to me.
No one should even want to be 30% body fat so why the question?

Good point ProfX. It took me a while to realize this. If your 160@ 10%bf and you work hard for a year and bump up to 180-190 at around 15% bf, you would look much more muscular even though your bf% is higher.
You have to look at the bigger picture. BF% is important to some people just as much as gaining muscle and there is nothing wrong with that as long as the persuit and matainance of a low bf dosent affect muscle growth. I think it would be best to never allow yourself to get to 30%.
Thanks ProfX, your reply was the explanation I was thinking of.
especially this part: the fact that the more muscle you carry, the more fat you may be able to carry without looking “fat”.
I thought the point of the question was clear, guess not some didn’t get it.
