AquaCruzer's Training Log

How tall are you again? I’m gonna have to eat like hell to catch up with your weight! Back is looking solid and traps are looking very good/thick indeed ! Standout

@phlegms: thanks man  eating would definitely help in the weight gain department.

@Diluted56: appreciate it bud, but I’ve got some ways to go before I look good.

@ink: luv me sum trapplesauce <3

@bug: I just wanna grow up to look like you. All chiseled and what not.

@jake_j_m: I’m 5’10 maybe 5’11, somewhere around there. Much gratitude for the compliments, makes me want to work that much harder.

5/3/1, 3 week, Day 4
Friday 9/16/11

Cleans (er rather reverse power curlz)
somex135
2x155
1x185, 205 (tie PR)
missx225 (lulz)

phlegms, teach me your ways.

Military press
somexsomex95
3x125
3x145
3x165

Push press
3x135, 145, 165
1x185, 195, 205, 225, 245 PR 20lbs
missx255 (upon unracking left wrist felt weak)

Fuck yeah 245!!! (excuse mah language) Felt EZ. I was under the influence of endorphins from hitting 245 and shouldn’t have attempted 255.

Ah man! 222 at 5ft10-11 is pretty solid considering your fairly lean! Good work. I have like 25 pounds to add on my 5ft 10" frame to be that… maybe then my bench/pressing will be a little closer to yours

Christ thats a strong push press. Also, your cleans are just about to catch mine so once again I need to go lift and eat more!

Re; the cleans, I have found that kind of power shrugging the weight up just after the initial pull will help get the momentum of the bar to where it needs to be to get the right height. Try out some clean pulls or clean high pulls to get this part of the movement down and from there just add it into your cleans. Once the bar height/speed is where it needs to be its just a case of whipping under the bar and letting the bar fall onto your shoulders in a clean grip and you’re good to go! Still, your cleans looked pretty nice all over!

@phlegms: lol thanks. I appreciate the advice. Do feel free to rip my form.

5/3/1, 3 week, Day 4
Friday 9/16/11

Deadlift
somexsomex135
3x225
3x260
3x295
3x335
1x365, 385
2x2x405 (I suppose this is a PR)

Not a good session, felt like I pussied out.

Ab wheel
5x5

Why do you feel you pussied out? Deadlift PRs are harder to come by once you start getting in the 400 range so if anything it should feel pretty good! Good effort man

Really nice push pressing man! Your shoulders are getting stupidly strong!

I’d say you’ve got more in you on deadlifts tbh but it does seem like once you get over 400 it all of a sudden gets tough. Might just be a mental thing though.

By the way your back and triceps are looking BIG! What do you put those size gains down to? Anything in particular?

Don’t feel bad about deadlifting; the short arms probably helps your pressing and hurts your pulling.

@jake_j_m: I think I just went in with higher expectations than I should have. In retrospect, it was the first time I’ve done more than 1 rep with a weight in the 400s so I can’t really complain.

@Getting Closer: Thanks man  I figure it’s probably more of a mental thing, but that’s not to say I can’t get stronger physically haha. Thanks again haha. I have no idea really, I suppose the fact that I stick to the basics is what helps. Sorry for the lame answer.

@mmatt: Thanks for pointing that out. I can’t win 'em all. As I’ve already mentioned, in the grand scheme of things I didn’t do half bad.

5/3/1, 1 week, Day 2
Sunday 9/18/11

Bench press
somexsomex135
5x195
3x220
1x250, 275
unracked 295 and decided not to go for it
7x255 (PR of sorts)
8x225, 185 (brought in grip a little bit to see if it helped the weird forearm/elbow feeling)
3x10x135

Meh had a weird feeling in my forearms/elbows. Just felt kinda weak. Man, the higher rep stuff kicked me square in the derriere.

Really nice benching dude, if I could rep a 225 bench even once I’d be pretty happy…fml

Good benching AquaCruzer… wish mine had gone that well today (I’d have to gain about 50lbs on my bench… lol)

Damn! I wanted some magic exercise to make mine grow like that haha

Bench is looking strong! Not far to 400 eh! Lol

Nice work, Dr. Perfect!

This log clearly shows me that ground beef is more than just ground beef.

Damn so much awesome sauce going on in this log right now. First off, looking thick as fuck in that back pic. You are growing like a weed and those traps are monstrous. Second, Awesome lifting. Congratulations are in order. A 110 kg push press is incredible. Great benching and deadlifting as well. Keep kicking ass man!:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Thanks guys! I really do appreciate the comments

5/3/1, 1 week, Day 2
Sunday 9/18/11

Squat
somexsomex135
5x185
5x230
3x260
1x290, 315, 335, 365
missx405, 385 (rushed the set up on this one)

Bleh. Deload week coming up. Was not smart today. Just wasn’t in the cards to get a PR. Time to focus on building strength, not testing it.

Man… great work, looks like you’d have at least 375 in you. Your working weights don’t sell your true strength… impressed!

On the 405 fail, you do what I have a tendency of doing on heavier squats. Don’t throw your elbows back, but thrust them up and forward. When I make a conscious effort to do that, upper back problems go away.

Don’t sweat the misses broham, the squats looked very solid. You definitely have at least 375 in you.
