Very cool stuff in here, as usual. Nice work, guys.
I’ve been nursing something like an ab strain for the last week (got overaggressive on the ab wheel. Yes, I’m dumb.) I’ll definitely put something up in a week or so when I’m back closer to 100%.

Good luck in the mudder - it would be great to hear how it went. Post a recap if you can.

Have you done one of these before?
I post in the over 35 is my log and I just did a warrior dash and posted results.
Top 8% of 4100 people so I was pretty pleased with that.

DD how old are you?
30 in 16 days. And in the best shape I’ve ever been.
Awesome perfect age to do it IMO
What is the plan if you dont mind me asking?
PL or what?
Goal: Enjoy life as much as possible. Really.
At the moment full powerlifting is out. My back is messed up. I’ve had recurring hip/back problems since I was a kid (linked to scoliosis) and it’s majorly acting up. Only, the normal methods of dealing with it haven’t been working. I haven’t truly squatted or pulled in months. It seems too slowly be healing but it may be a long road. (I’m now the king of belt squats though).
I’ve been considering becoming a BOF in the meantime. I think if I really concentrated on it I could make a run at well over a 2x BW bench and maybe even 405+ at 198 or even 181. I did a paused 365 bench last week just getting back into heavy pressing.
I’ve even given a cursory thought to getting on stage. I’d like to see how far I could push myself in getting shredded, but ultimately I just don’t have the desire to compete at BBing. My uncle (a former competitor) has really tried to talk me into it though.

Ah I had a feeling, I was 29 when I herniated 3 discs in my LSpine. That pretty much put me out of ever doing PL serious, then I tried again when I hit 36 to get back to maybe doing it. Then I was put down with a “back strain” that I could not put on my shoes. Decided to drop weight and just keep it off now. Just live life, be happy, be a gym rat.
Now I do Oly lifts, front squat and occasionally pull, I cant even do bench any more cause of my shoulder issues.
Has the weight loss helped with your job?
Yeah. I kinda feel like that’s the road I’m on.
eh, I’m in a cubicle most of the time. Though I’m far more awake alert and attentive than I used to be.
When I’m in the field with a crane or out rigging it’s a lot easier.

Really didnt know you had a job change, are you still fighting fires also?
You in management now
Sorry. No new career, I’m just a volunteer firefighter. But yeah, I definitely last longer on a bottle of air. Should be doing the 9/11 memorial stair climb again next year and I plan of kicking itâ??s ass carrying equipment.
By day Iâ??m a mechanical/electrical/software engineer.

You look bigger and fuller at 213…

Been “cutting” for about 6 months or so; so far down about 30-40lbs.
Here is a comparison between mid january to early april. My lifts are still on the way up so that’s nice.

My abs are showing signs of existence for the first time ever, so that’s cool
By the way, does anyone know how long it takes for skin to tighten up?

You can out front squat me. =0) Awesome.
Hah! Thanks ![]()
So the vid works? To me it shows as an error.

Let me know if your company ever needs occupational medicine

Being an engineer, I’ll take that as a compliment.
I’ll lobby for it if I start back into powerlifitng.

Lol
It is a compliment, I knew you were smart and analytical from your posts.
No companies need injury management, pre-employment physicals, audiograms, fit testing, drug testing, random drug testing etc. My company does all that. Just FYI
I gotta give mad props to Double Duce, well done bro, you really leaned out nicely.

my bad. I was thinking the occupational stuff was more of a retained medical service than preventive and screening stuff. I was thinking having a doctor on retainer might be good for me if I was powerlifting. lol
I try to lear something new everyday. Unfortunately I already learned something earlier.

Thanks. Leaning out and looking better is really only a side effect of the change. It’s changed almost everything in my life for the better. Bodyweight addiction is a terrible thing. I kinda feel like some obnoxious Jesus freak about it now though trying to convert everybody.
I HAVE SEEEEEN THA LIGHT!
