Awesome.
There is so much good advice in this thread. It’s really awesome to see. I have nothing to add on the ‘what you should do’ front. But I have one piece of advice.
Don’t be a victim.
"I feel like in the last two years all I’ve done is shitted on some of the best years to gain muscle in my life. "
Not even close. NOBODY around here advocates bulking for the obese. You made changes that you needed to make. Be proud. Don’t confuse being proud with being content. Whatever you decide to do, remember that you’re in control, and you have more proof of that then almost anyone.
i read this thread b/c a lot of it applies to me with some of the thoughts that go through my head.
i too was big (not as big tho) and dropped down to way too skinny 6’2 168. I still had the skinny fat phenomenon too. Since then i have fluctuated like crazy. Yo-Yo, if you will, with bulking and leaning (i dont like the term cutting, around here it tends to mean drop everything and starve).
here is the only thing i can say after doing this for a few years now, be very careful with all the weight gain/loss. i too have a lot of loose skin. i just recently went to the docs to get my gyno checked out and he made a remark about how i had so much loose skin it would cause issues and that in the future i should look into a tummy tuck.
A TUMMY TUCK? wtf? Here i am busting my ass in the gym to gain weight/size and sometimes leaning out to look/feel better and i get emasculated with the term tummy tuck. fuck i hate loose skin.
at any rate, for the last few months i have been trying more of a recomposing of my body. i think you should find a weight and stay there. i am hoping the skin will tighten too. add some cardio, eat enough to keep right around this weight, eatin more on lifting days or just enough to gain weight slowly. we both know how quickly this weight can get out of hand…
on another note. congrats on 2000posts. you are a freak. now i am going to go read the loose skin thread in the t-cell and soak up that knowledge
