Anything's Possible

One of the beauties of having a mind is that you have the ability to change it as often as you like. Considering options is always a good thing. It’s A-okay in my book to change your mind as often as you like without feeling the need to be accountable to anybody but yourself. Of course we’ll support you in whatever goals you lay out for yourself.

You know your own life best. And oh, boy, I’ve seen rough projections of the expense and it really is serious.
Have fun getting freaky strong instead!

^ getting freaky strong, hehe…

Thanks K and Alisa! I think it really all comes down to the expense and time…Hubby will get hazard duty pay and family sep. pay, but that extra money would be nice to pay down some debts/save up for whatever…I’d love to get my oldest into Karate or something to that extent, since he’s been showing an interest lately! And my littlest one wants to take ‘guppy lessons.’ (swimming)

And time…would I have enough time to meet with a posing instructor/choreographer etc…My hubby is basically the only one I have that I can rely on to be there…and since, well, he won’t be here, then I only have myself…

I need to take some time to research more…seek out where my resources are…ask the tough questions about time and money, money and time, :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

One thing I can count on is showing up to the gym and lifting the crap out of some weight…

So I hit the gym to do some slow walking up a hill, :stuck_out_tongue:

Then I did some core work:

hypers: holding a one of those fixed barbells! much ‘easier,’ and less awkward than holding a plate, imo…

4x10x30lb bb

Bird dogs

donkey kicks?

Hanging leg raises

decline situps

done!

FOOD:

3/4 cup cottage cheese

White feesh!
cucumber, tomato, avacado
pineapple for desert, mmm

turkey meatballs
cabbage

ground hamburger
zucchini
olives

doh, just remembered I forgot to get Parmesan sprinkle cheese…oh well…making spaghetti tonight…

Now, I need to get my butt in gear and work on some of this paper for my final…I’m doing it on Powerlifting :)…and I’m to make a plan to get more clubs into high schools…especially for females! I would have joined a club like that if it was in my high school!!

yay! My book and correspondence test showed up…when you become a CPT, you gotta take continuing education credits to keep your cert. up to date…

I got a book called: Effective strength training

Hey Mama, You know what? What everyone said is on the mark. You can change your mind all you want and we’ll support you and follow you on your journey.

As has been written before, life happens and you got to do what you got to do to keep yourself happy and sane while staying true to your obligations - hubby, kiddies, work, etc.

But to play devils advocate, don’t do what I did and in Bobbi’s words “pussy out” just for the sake of convenience. I know you know this - but just thought I’d toss it in the think tank.

At any rate, whatever you choose we know you’ll dominate

Thanks Masch-

I was told to stop worrying about the details and just train like a freak in the meantime…

I can do that!

x2

Deciding to do a show is a BIG commitment, and if your head & heart aren’t in it 100% it’s probably wise to put it on the back burner for now.

But, like you alluded to, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t train as if you’re planning to do a show. I think it’s a great idea to focus on getting as strong & gaining as much muscle as you can for now, so that in the future, when you are able to make the big commitment to do a show, you’re already well on your way to being ready.

yes, indeedy! Doesn’t mean I can’t train like it…

And who doesn’t want more muscle? I had a date in mind to step on stage…April 10th 2011, but the schedule isn’t even out yet…I am only assuming the contest date this year will be around the same date next year…And I don’t even know what organization would be best…I’ll ask Victor today for his opinion…he’s competed in them all basically!

I’m going to try and go to that show actually(coming up) to see what the amateurs look like…I went to a comp last NOV, but it was only to see the Pros…

Hack squats…never done em!

Have any of you? Maybe I’ll get video to see how funny I look :stuck_out_tongue:

If you’re talking BB hack squats, like a deadlift with the bar behind you, yep, I’ve done 'em. They really fry your quads, but can be a bit awkward. Oh, and having straps handy is probably a good idea.

haha, tried em…and yes, they are awkward…exactly like a deadlift in reverse…I couldn’t get my hips through quick enough, so I kept hitting my butt with the bar!

switched to front squats instead :stuck_out_tongue:

So here’s how it went down:

Leg press-5x15x35s on each side(pre-exhaust perhaps?)

front squats-4x10xbar :frowning: ATG tho!
-supersetted with-
seated leg curls-4x10x60

single leg ext-3x15x50
-supersetted with-
single leg curl-3x15x30

BB step ups-(finisher?)
3x15x40lb

FOOD:
cottage cheese
banana

protein drink
gatorade

tuna+
cukes, tomatos and avacado with a tbsp mayo

snack? not sure! yesterday I wasn’t hungry, so just waited for dinner!

porkchop
green beans

It feels good to train hard and with a new purpose…surprised my legs aren’t hurting already…

One thing you might have guessed about me, is that I’m a thinker and a planner…I think into things waaay too much, and I’m not very spontaneous…

probably stems from all the trouble I got into as a kid…I’d always have a plan and an alibi and lots of back up excuses just in case rollseyes

So committing to something such as this a bb’ing comp is hard for me, because it’s hard to plan the ‘hows whys and what ifs.’ I’m kinda just jumping in and seeing what happens…I’ve never done that before!

sometimes you just gotta take the jump MIM.

i don’t think i like the sound of those hack squats…

HA! I was thinking the same!

But I’m glad you gave them a try. Trying something new is always a good thing.

Upright rows- 3x10x30

40lbs-10 reps- 30lbs 10 reps
-supersetted with-
Machine curl
3x10/10(drop set)
40lbs-30lbs

ow! only managed the 40-30 for the first two sets.then had to drop to 30-20 :frowning:

Seated Alt. db curl
3x10x20s

seated calf rasies-
3x20x80-ow!

standing calf raises
3x10x135

Tomorrow will be cardio, core, and other parts that need more work…triceps and glutes!

fooood:

cottage cheese
banana
2 oz ckn

protein drink
gatorade

tuna, cuke, tomato, avocado+mayo

snack? this is alway a toughy

sloppy joes(w/o bun)
green beans

I think before I start ‘bulking,’ it would be wiser to try and cut another 10-15lbs…that way I’ll be at my goal weight(FINALLY) which is 155-160…I’m somewhere between 171-175, haven’t weighed myself for almost two weeks…

I’ll keep training as is, but omit fruit again, and just gatorade pwo…I’ll also add the 20 min ss cardio after training…

There! I feel better now…and I need more time to wrap my mind around taking in more carbs(eventually) There’s gotta be a way to gain LEAN mass…carbs just around training…bulking does not equal eat whatever you want and however much you want!!

I think your plan is a good one. It seems to me to be a dangerous thing to “bulk” so soon after putting enormous effort into losing weight.

well, a ‘clean bulk,’ anyway…was just going to start with 50grams carbs(25 pre/25post) and see how that worked…

buuuut! It occured to me(DUH!) I’m not done losing fat just yet :stuck_out_tongue: Or at least getting to a weight I am comfortable enough with, that if I do put on some lbs, I won’t totally freak…
