But there is more to it than heaving weight over head and squattingā¦I think my grip on the bar was too narrow on the bar, and I didnāt keep the bar back far enoughā¦

those looked good- OH squats seem to make understanding the mechanics of the squat easy- if you do it wrong
you cant really do them.
you have to keep tight and have great posture
keeps you pushing the knees out
forces you to initiate the movement at the glute/hip vs knee
and somehow because your very tight and have good posture depth is easy.
they are my number one tool to see where I am at.
I do them every lower body training session, before I squat or pull
If Iām lucky its twice a week.
they let me know right away where I am tight- if my hips are loose enough,
or my ankles tight, or my p-chain too banged up.
Iām good for 185x4 I think I can get 225x1 soon.
I try to get 95x10,95x20 or 135x10 everytime I squat or pull.

Iāve been lurking a bit. Iāve managed to lose some motivation though so thought Iād be a little more active on here. Iām thinking of starting to log in combat sports again. First Iām going to catch up on your log, thereās a lot in here!

Random: I did a program from PN that included oh lunges as warmups, and remember liking them a lot! Iāll follow suit and do these as warmups before squats, and possibly cleans before DLās? Solid base for o-lifts, right?

Made it to the gymā¦did my own little circuit thingā¦
3x10 of everything
Front squats(bar)
walking lunges holding the bar in front(awesome!)
barbell pushups
close grip rows
and some leg curls
Got the idea of the push ups from one of Charles Staleyās videosā¦Abs are sore from yesterday, and I didnāt even work them! Think its a combo from the OH squats, pushups, and 1 arm chest db presses I did
This weekend will be spent chillin, waiting for Monday to come to finally begin this challenge!! So excitedā¦
So today has been awesome :roll:
My husband found out that there are 9 more billets to go overseas that have popped upā¦heās fairly certain that heās already in the top 10 by now :thud: what happens when you go on shore duty, is that you get thrown into this lottery of people needed as requestedā¦it could be anywhere from Iraq, to Git-mo(Cuba) The duty is for 1 freaking YEAR!! crazinessā¦so weāve had that hanging over our heads for as long as weāve been living hereā¦and he keeps inching closer and closerā¦it SUCKS! :< ![]()
And then the school nurse called to inform us that Coby has strep and a fever of 108ā¦108!!! I was freaking outā¦but it was 100.8ā¦just the nurse talking too fast and my hubby not listening wellā¦I figured at 108, theyād be rushing him in an ambulance!
And now, Im starting to feel run down, and I have a white crap on my tonsilsā¦awesome.
Iād worry the bar would roll in that position. Maybe stabilizing it is part of the exercise?
