mmm, cheez-its…the problem with that is that I could eat way too many, so I just don’t!
It’s hard to overeat broccoli though :P[/quote]
Tell me about it. When I started eating predominantly meat and vegetables and cut out the goldfish and potato chips, I was eating ALL the time. It’s actually a joke where I work: “which lunch is this, the third one?” I don’t even know how big people get enough calories on a lean diet.

cooked beets and chicken, huh? Never been a fan, but I tried them chilled the other night and they weren’t half bad!
I’ve never like canned beets but this summer my neighbor gave us some fresh from her garden, and we roasted them with sea salt and olive oil. I literally chose them for snacks over cheez-its, I swear to you.

That’s how I make them: get fresh beets from the farmers market or the Whole Foods and then roast them with some olive oil and salt. Mmmmm. Something THAT red has got to be good for you!
yum on the roasted beets. pretty much any roasted veggie will give a flavor profile that you just can’t beat. roasteed cauliflower, and lemon zest (the actual rind + squeeze of juice). roasted parsnips and brussel sprouts with shallots. a lot of people tell me they “hate” a particular veggie, until i make it. the carmelizing is the trick…i can’t wait to get home and over this weekend to get back on clean eating!
I’m a plain veggie girl…at least on this diet…no fats allowed That’s pretty much the only downside I can see…I can live without carbs, but fats?! It’s why you only do this for a short while and take a break…
Congrats. Good numbers, new clients – this is impressive.
I love roasted vegetables. Another amazing thing: brussels sprouts and cauliflower. A lot of people don’t like them, but roasted with garlic and (sorry) olive oil they’re spectacular. I guess if you have a non-stick pan you could skip the oil – the issue is sticking and blackening.
I’m jealous of all of you who can cook. College cafeteria food – never enough cooked vegetables. I have to remind myself “Lettuce is not a vegetable.”
Planks-
I held a plank for a MINUTE!!! wahoo
Second time was 45s
Sqwat:
worked up to 5x5x155
Then just to see if I had it in me 185x1…ya bitches!!
Bench-feeling pretty shakey here, backed down on the weight
3x8x105
Incline db bench-
2x8x45s 1x6x50s…WHAT?! haha…I had been eyeballing those 50s for awhile, and asked my pal to give me a lift off, which is all I needed!!
Then a tri-set of:
RDL-3x8x155
Tricep bench dips(feet up on bench, with a 35lb plate in muh lap)
3x8
Walking lunges-just body weight to stretch everything out
3x20
Feeling strong while dieting;Priceless!!
Whew!! Held off on trying out the barbell hip thrusts…will do next week! I saw Freddy Kruger at the effing grocery store on my way home…scared the Shiznit out of me!! I was just turning the corner out of an aisle, and I ran right into him…
Found some wildberry buckwheat waffles I plan on chowing down on…but first it’s SUSHI!!
Nice going! You’ve inspired me to work my incline db presses more. There was a time (when I couldn’t flat bench due to my niggly shoulder) that I only did incline presses for chest, but I’ve neglected them recently.
Awesome squat, too! (And totally jealous of the sushi. Yum!)
Thats all I had today, sushi, corn chex and a cookie…I thought I was good for more than that, but I’m FULL!!
I wanted to pig out on steak and potatos, but theres no room!!! I’m peeved.
Have another orientation tomorrow morning with a woman who was already asking about personal training pricing over the phone, and if we could do her workout in the woman’s room only…hmm.
but do refeeds make you nuts? I kinda find that if I just stay moderate low carb all the time I don’t go nutso. Now… tequila… well that makes me nutso low carb or not.
The refeeds are just part of the plan prescribed by Mr. Lyle himself. In real life, I eat low- moderate carbs because I feel better… I’m the opposite and do well without carbs most of the time…I feel lighter and have more energy!
Up to 193 this morning…three pounds! But they will be gone in a day or two.
