Yep, big indeed.
When you do the incline db press, do you get 'em up yourself or have someone hand them to you? My main sticking point with these (other than the fact I generally don’t do them as a main exercise - rather, as an accessory to flat bench) is that I train alone, usually at times when the gym is quiet, so I’m getting them up there myself. Given my history of shoulder problems I have to be a bit cautious.[/quote]
Cal,
Sorry I’m behind. With the big ones I can’t curl, I do one side at a time, in other words, I hoist them into position with two hands and then press with one and switch.

Hey Cal,

Kind of discouraged this morning…weight is exactly the same—>185.
Maybe since Im mentally drained from this diet, my body is drained as well. I had some unplanned slips over the weekend, but even still, the deficit is ridiculously low.
Not feeling positive, but then again I wasn’t feeling positive going another round…time to move on and accept a 45lb loss? Or continue 11 days to see what happens? hmmm
Hi mim,
Just stopping in to give you some encouragement. I’d stick it out if I were you. At least you can say you gave it until the end of the year rather than wondering what would have happened. On the other hand, 45 lbs would be nothing to be disappointed at!
Did you read yesterday’s article about work arounds? The third example was about a girl who was stalled in her fat loss. The premise was she had to disturb her body’s equilibrium to get the fat loss going again. I know you do that with your refeeds…
Have a good day. We’ll all be thinking about you.
I could probably tone down the training though…it’s a habit of mine to add more volume…
And Im also going to track foods and do this program more by the book…I eat my protein and veggies and take my fish oil…but I dont keep track on paper(or computer).hey, it’s worked up til now!
…Also,I don’t think I’ve been eating ENOUGH, which is insane on this diet… And Its said once you get lean enough you should track the veggie carbs(at least on a cut) cause they start to add up QUICK! And I eat 1-3 pounds of veggies a day!
I’m not saying Im extremely lean(yet) but Im getting there!
This morning I had:
glorious buckwheat waffles and
cottage cheese+ strawberries
I didn’t track this, but probably in the range of 50 carbs
For lunch I am going to have bbq chicken, mashed potatos and a rice crispy treat!
could also be since Im near the last 10 I want to lose, it’s getting harder for my body to let it go?
wondering if a supp might help a bit at this point!
I haven’t taken any so far…I know there are no magic pills, but in the very least it could help with my mood ;<
ya, well the scale agrees…I’m UP a pound…:banghead:
wrooooong waaaaay!!! -186-
Makes me want to scream…
but in a way I’ve found new motivation. I’m just going to have to track my foods now to see if I could possibly pinpoint anything…I’ve been eating more cottage cheese recently…nothing outrageous, just those snack size ones, once and sometimes twice a day.
And something tells me I haven’t been eating ENOUGH, which is insane…
Throw a little HOT-ROX to keep the mood up and I know I can get things moving once again!
And no more of this I need two moderate days, instead of one refeed…I got better results when I just had the ONE big food day…I just have to be more careful with the foods I select…
When following a plan, its best to stick to the book! DUH!
And Ill take the pressure off by pushing the end date of this diet, out a bit…If in another two weeks I still find myself spinning my wheels then I’ll throw the towel in.
Jan 25th is actually my 1 yr anniversary of not weighing 230 anymore. The crazy thing is the year before that I was 203, wtf…no use dwelling…
ya, magical!! not saying I will diet until that day…but two more weeks sounds doable! Im so sick of dieting!! Been doing it since July, but its almost over!!
hang in there with the diet MIM, you have kicked ass! sorry i havne’t been around much…you might have read about me whinning about my ridiculously long work days…
I was bound to hit a wall at some point! When the going gets tough it only motivates me to work harder and get more stubborn, grrrr…
The hubby announced the other day that he wants me to do the p90x thing we got two years ago
Id probably do the cardio portion with him! Its kind of cool cause theres this power yoga, plyo and cardio intervals…and the ab ripper X and a whole stretching program to boot…
Still gonna give 5/3/1 a shot…I think…
I still cant shake my bodybuilding urges…but I can use the accessory work to satisfy that
…barely ate anything cause we were on the go all day and nothing sounded good…and then on the way home where does the hubby stop for dinner?
Five guys (burgers and Fries) Knowing there was nothing to eat at home that was ready made I caved and had a hamburger.Bun and all!! ohhh, it was so YUMMY! I knew I would regret it later, but I was famished!!
whats one hamburger in the scheme of life, right? I don’t even remember the last time I had one!
mim: I was reading your post thinking I bet she loses after she confuses her body with this hamburger and then I got to the punchline where you are down half a pound. I know several people who got good things from P90X but they were total exercise newbs, unlike you. I still think it’s worth a try for disturbing your body with different approaches.
Kimba: everyone seems to hate cardio, but do we really just hate spending a tedious hour on the treadmill? A solid interval-type kickboxing or sparring conditioning session does great things for my body and it feels good. Well, not at the end of the 20 seconds or 1 minute “on”, but overall at the end of the class. It feels … purposeful.

Indeed its the elliptical/treadmill stuff that I hate. I’d much rather do hill repeats on my bicycle or train intervals on the XC ski-skating track. If I feel I need some “cardio”, I kick my own ass Tabata style with a complex or simple jump-roping. All good.
I like the kind of cardio that you are not attached to a machine as well…the more I can be freely moving the better!
hiking, biking, walking, etc…in general I love being outdoors! But if I had to do something indoors, jumping around with a dvd might not be a bad option… tony horton is kind of a cheese ball though!
Thanks Hammer! I’ll have to give that a read…
Arach- magic hamburgers, huh?
I just placed my order for some HOT-ROX…GNC was trying to sell it for $60!! whaaat?!
