Eh, I know what you mean. When I started training I was always good at leg press and the like, but these days I struggle with squats (which is my fault as I never persevered with them when I was younger). I can bench more than I can squat.
MIM you always make me sigh (in the admiration way) with those DBs. AWESOME! i didn’t make it to the gym to see all the hamsters since i ended up working 12 hours…what a sight that always is.
and if you start doing hill sprints, i’ll really be jealous b/c i CAN’T! (heel spur)
To be honest, I’ve been on a diet break since the 19th I think? And the thought of going back on that pitiful diet makes me want to run far away! But it’s only for a short while…I’ve come this far and it’s important for me to go all the way. Back on the diet T minus 2 days…
Food sure has been good though! My pants are still fitting so Im not too worried about the scale
T- don’t worry about me doing hill sprints…unless I did em on the treadmill…there aren’t any sprint worthy hills around here!
Skye- you are right…if it ain’t broke, haha…I hope thats true in the long run…thats why this diet is only meant to be done in chunks of time, cause it’s THAT sucky(at least to me) But the results are almost instant, which is what keeps me going.
I’ve done the moderate approach with slooow results, and it was just pissing me off…fat loss takes time, blah blah blah…but when you are 200+ lbs with 35% bf struggling to lose a lb a MONTH you don’t want to hear that shit, LOL!! There’s life to be lived beyond trying to get less fat…so this way, the job gets done…
Keeping the pounds off will always be a battle, but at least I will be fighting it at a healthy weight.

MIM- I hear you. Long term, slow and steady is much better. Great job on the squats. I need to start going shoe-less on squats. I’ve been doing it on DLs but kind of shy in the squat rack.
I agree with Kimba, your gym is really yellow…lol.
…if I suck tell me I suck and how I can get less sucky…I’d love more feedback on my vids, in other words…otherwise why post em? I know your reading out there!
Thanks
/rant
Skye- thanks about the squats…I just feel, so, sloppy?
Maybe I’ll start posting in Meats thread again!
Kimba–ya, it was haze gray for the longest time…reminded me of being on a ship again! I had no say in the color scheme…
In all honesty, your form is great. You sit back so your knee joints are solid to assist the movement, meaning they don’t BECOME the movement. The bar is placed on a lower part of you back, not resting on your shoulders. You could try to keep your chest up higher to negate any type of fold, but I don’t really see that happening …just to prevent it from possibly happening (I do it sometimes, so it is pretty common). Maybe a little lower, but you have 100% better form than any single other person I see in my chain gym. Seriously:)
What is the highest weight you have worked with so far?
MIM-i hear ya on the diet issue…i’ve been doing slow and steady forEVER. i’m still gonna wait til jan or feb to go balls to the wall (or my version of it) and i hear you on the feedback on your video. i’m in no position to comment, so that’s why i’ve only said you looked pretty good to me. i didn’t hear too much feedback on my video, i figured maybe i sucked so bad people had it in their hearts to be nice…(thanx deja and kimba-i know you commented)
Shauna, i read you mentioned about taking a look at peeps videos…feel free to check mine out. at that post (a couple pages back in my journal) that was only the 5th time in the rack for me. i’m aware of the lean, and i’m not sure how my horribly tight hip problem is affecting me. and i need flat shoes…yep!
I think slow and steady fat loss is cool if you have the patience for it, and you aren’t clinically considered ‘OBESE,’ AAAAND you are a certified personal trainer who was overweight wanting to help others but couldn’t cause, um, I was overweight…
I had 50+ pounds to lose and was sick of it being attached to my body, despite trying to be deligent, etc…but I’ve also learned a lot along the way, so its all good!!
I DID my first neutral grip pull up at the park!!! Granted it was a jump n pull, but I always hit that sticking point where you either go the rest of the way up or you just hang there, but I pulled myself UP!!!
Shauna- Thanks a million!! I already feel like my back is arched a ton, but when I see the vid, it doesn’t look like it…hmm…I’ve worked up to 185x3 at the beginning of summer but I don’t think they were even at paralell…
At the end of the year I’d like to reppin with 225
For fun here is a 165, from MAY…
T- I really thought your squats looked great!! Considering the amount of time you’ve been doing em! I think the struggle and form breaks once you get up in reps…the cure then would be to LOAD the bar and lower the reps!
