Anyone Played Any Good PS4 Games Lately?

Just played Fallout 3 for about 45 mins. I’m up to where Anika - I think that’s her name - said my father has left the vault and her father, the Overseer, is trying to kill me. I’m supposed to escape from the vault. All I can say is, I hope it gets better. Nowadays I find it hard to get interested in games and the first 45 mins seemed almost like a chore. I hope the story line pulls me in. No spoilers please.
Dude you havent even finished the tutorial yet. Believe me, it gets better.

Once the full scope and potential of the game has been revealed to you, you will come to appreciate the immersive and purposely linear introduction.

Not yet, but Damn getting attacked from a Rhino and fighting in the arena is fucking intense.
Rhinos were the only thing that i still avoided like the plague even late in the game.

I experienced moments where i would try to hunt the rhinos with the bow to get double the skins and literally had to put over 20 arrows in one rhino to fell the bastard.

Yaks are fuckin annoying too cause you dont see them charge up behind you and then they knock your ass to the ground, but before you can get up and shoot it the thing will ram you 3 or 4 more times until you can finally get your feet under you long enough to kill it.

Wait till you get the more powerful weapons like the AMR and the buzzsaw. you becomes unstoppable. Some people will say its cheap but they were just too much damn fun to not use and you wont get them until late in the game anyway.

Yeah I know. I just get bored too quickly with games nowadays. I think I’ve just outgrown them. Even with good games like Far Cry 4 and Wolfenstein The New Order, I just lose interest. I think I’m just getting too old.

One of the things I didn’t like about Far Cry 4 was it’s really frustrating at the beginning to get enough skins to craft bags to hold weapons and other stuff. I spent ages trying to hunt skins and I couldn’t carry them all so I had to drop stuff. I got enough skins to craft a larger bag to hold stuff but then quickly ran out of holding capacity collecting skins to make other stuff. When I finally got enough and completed a few more areas I started getting bored with the fighting missions that you need to complete to progress the story. So I just stopped playing it after a while but I’ll probably go back to it at some stage.

And Wolfenstein bored me. I didn’t play for long at all. Just shooting Nazi robots for hours on end bored me senseless. I just gave up.

Thats interesting, aside from a few difficult to find animals early on i was able to get skins to upgrade all the important stuff (ammo bags, loot capacity, wallet capacity) pretty early on. The stuff that took me the longest to upgrade were the things i didnt really need, like explosives capacity.

Oh shit and i forgot about the dogs. early on the dogs are a son of a bitch. I couldnt take 10 steps without a pack of them running up on me and taking out 2/3 of my body armor.

Thankfully when you unlock the northern part of the map you dont see them up there. You get a lot of wolves and leopards but by that time i could handle them easily.

Thats precisely the reason that the shredder signature weapon became one of my mains once i unlocked it. Its silenced and has a ridiculously high rate of fire, great for killing any leopards that snuck up on me while stalking an outpost without alerting the enemies.

Yeah that can be fun. I throw bait around just before an attack to tie them up. I’m stuck at a point now where I can’t further the story though. There’s a village with a number of guerrillas expecting an attack. When you arrive the attack starts. I don’t have any trouble staying alive but I keep failing because too many of the guerrillas get killed. I just can’t seem to protect their arses.

Is that when the hunters make their first appearance? They are a bitch at first and i think i failed that mission a couple times before i got it finally for the same reason.

I’m not sure. You enter the village and there’s a mounted LMG around some boxes that have ammo on them and mines. There’s a wooden house behind more ammo. The bad guys arrive about twenty seconds after you arrive. You kill a few in front with the LMG and then more appear above and to the right on a cliff shooting down at you. Haven’t played it in a while. I’m just playing The Last of Us on PS4 at the moment actually. Seems like a great game but I don’t like the political messages they inserted into it.

Yes that is the mission where you first encounter hunters, its a bitch. They cant be marked with your binoculars for more than a few seconds, they will turn any animals against you, including ones you baited, and they use arrows.

The mounted gun is good for the first wave, before anyone arrives you should litter the cliffs to the right of the machine gun (if you are currently using it) with mines as thats where the second wave comes from. After the initial wave i didnt even bother with the mounted gun, just run n’ gun and try to avoid accidentally shooting your dumbass allies.

If you have hunting syringes this mission becomes a LOT easier. I did not have any on hand at the time and still think i beat it in 3 tries if i remember correctly.

^^ I’ve put Far Cry 4 on the backburner for the moment. Just got a PS4 and I’m playing The Last of Us.

Can anyone recommend any PS4 exclusive games I should get? Any cool stuff I can with the PS4? I haven’t tried the voice commands yet. I haven’t looked into how to set it up.

Infamous Second Son was a blast and looks fantastic, definitely a good game to showcase the power of the Ps4.

Killzone Shadowfall can be picked up for 20 bucks used, if you like FPS games with good, fairly lengthy singleplayer campaigns its great, and one of the best looking console games to date.

The Last of Us is great so far. But I can’t find where most the controls are. I’ve forgotten which button for stealth. Also, it kind of sucks when you use up a clip killing several bad guys who were shooting at you but then there’s no ammo on their bodies.

I really didnt like Infamous 1 or 2. I have Infamous Second Son & Watch Dogs on the ps4 and both of them are sitting incomplete. I thought the story was relatively boring and didn’t care all that much for the game play which felt really repetitive. Watch Dogs felt like grand theft auto with no personality.

That’s funny, I really liked Infamous 1 & 2, but didn’t get into Second Son at all. Played 25% maybe. I thought Watch Dog was a second rate GTA clone as well.
