I’ve been reading a lot of articles by him and I really like his training philosophies. But I haven’t found anything on cardio, and I just want to see what he recommends/thinks, especially since I’m currently training by his 25 method principles.
I don’t know but I bet if you take the exact opposite of what bodybuilders recommend from decades of experience, that will be Waterbury’s opinion on cardio.

That is one of the funniest posts I’ve read in a while.
He recommends HIIT sprints or tabata on a bike, basically going real hard then backing off before repeating.
He is also a big fan of jump roping.
This looks extreme:

I could see a lot bodybuilders keeling over after some of this GPP.
Chad is cool
bar speed = everything

Probably because bodybuilders dont train to be able to do tabata’s on a stationary bike or jump rope. Just a hunch, but Im pretty sure thats not what the 230-275lb human forklift cares about.

x2
Just because thousands of huge, ripped bodybuilders have been doing “normal” cardio for dozens of years doesn’t mean it works!

You are already have critics about his opinions even before one answer what his opinions are… you guys are getting very efficient. ![]()
Seriously, i have read his book and you’d be surprised that its nothing polemic. He gives pretty much common guidelines about steady state and intervals cardio.
The problem with high intensity stuff is that it cuts your recovery a bit, but the human body is not that fragile. Just keep in mind that bodybuilders getting ready to a show are in a very extreme situation because of extreme dieting… i think anyone here would agree that playing basketball is great to lose fat, but i cant think of a human would be able to do that dieting this seriously. But if a guy arent trying to reach 3% bf and neither have the diet discipline of a competitive bodybuilder both high and low intensity are valid opitions.
why don’t you ask him yourself. second hand opinions of someone’s views are an unreliable source generally, not knockin on any posts made, but ask the guy himself.

I guess I didn’t realize the writers were that available on this website (locker room right?).
And I love that picture, go pack!
