In an attempt not to hijack this thread completely…

Yeah… Chinese, WTF? They’re all like 8… or something…

In an attempt not to hijack this thread, I think I’m gonna get She Say a Team USA gymnastics costume to complement her cheerleader, nurse, police officer and travelling magazine subscription salesgirl.

I’m going to lump it into poor communication and give you a pass.

Let me tell you a little story I witnessed first hand with a “barefoot doctor” in China…

The tiny village I lived in was hundreds of miles from anywhere. Less than 50 people lived there. I was there illegally and so when the Doctor would come, I would be hidden away in a section of a stone wall that was hollow and you could get into from behind a bush that hid it. I could see out through the cracks between the rocks though.

One day in the spring the doctor came and noted that three women in the village had given birth to their third baby each, in violation of the “2 children per family” limit. (In fact more than 1 child was frowned on and brought higher taxes etc)

He examined the children and mothers and then left. Three weeks later a caravan of 3 army trucks appeared and I was hidden away again. I watched as the soldiers arrived. An officer got out of the first truck and called out for the mothers and the new children. When they came forward the children were forcefully taken from the mothers. When one father tried to intervene the officer shot him in the head as casually as you or I would swat a fly. Trust me when I say that people shot in the head do not die instantly like in the movies. He screamed and gurgled for 20 minutes until he bled to death in front of his wife and children.

The three babies were given to female army nurses from the third truck. The mothers were then lead one at a time into the back of the second truck. After each one went in there was about a 5 minute silence, broken by the most horrifying screams you can possibly imagine. The kind that you honestly think might cause you to lose your sanity if it doesn’t stop. A few minutes after that the woman would be carried out by two soldiers who would hold her by her armpits and feet. They would carry her over and dump her at the feet of her family.

After all three women were “processed” they packed up and left, taking the babies with them.

I found out later that inside the truck they women were strapped into a gynecology exam table. They were roughly opened with a speculum and a long needle was inserted into their wombs. The needle injected a combination of Camphor and other chemicals. This combination caused a convulsion of the uterus so powerful it inverts through the cervix. The doctor then cut it off, along with her ovaries and sewed her cervix shut. All of this was done without anesthetics or any follow up antibiotics. One woman died within days from shock and the resulting infection. The other two woman aged 20 years in appearance in the following months. One woman was the wife of a friend and his grief over this was so great he was on the brink of suicide for months.

The Chinese government is the living embodiment of evil. In the end I left China because I couldn’t bear seeing it anymore.[/quote]

Oh my god, i felt so sick just there i actually closed my legs ugh i feel sick.

World history and international news isn’t really an interest of yours is it? I do business with the Chinese. What we hear and see on the news isn’t the fucking HALF of it. Forget the Olympics, it’s not like the Chinese government were a bunch of saints up until the games started. Ask anyone from Tibet.

It doesn’t matter if I pay attention to international news, because that’s not even the half of it. Oh sorry, the fucking HALF of it. And I guess I must have left out the part where I said ‘The Chinese government was a bunch of saints up until the games started.’

Or maybe I find stories about inverting vaginas a little too incredible to believe without any sort of confirmation. If this were really the penalty for having a third child, you don’t think it would have reached the not-even-fucking-half of the news I do hear?

Yeah, but there are 2 scenarios:

  1. It didn’t happen and someone is lying for whatever reason.

  2. It really did happen.

You can either call them a liar to make sure if they are lying they don’t get away with it, and in doing so possibly stomp on someone who went through something horrible. Or, you can have some tact.

How would you want him to prove it anyway? Pictures?

I think it’s safe to say that the Chinese government has mandated that the neonatal unit in every hospital screen all babies for double jointed wrists and ankles now.

I don’t need to ‘make sure’ of anything. I laugh at people who blindly believe anything because they want to believe. Proof? How about more than one allegation by an anonymous poster? They have a whole squad that goes around doing this to people, yet never had a leak?

What kind of tact do you suggest?

What makes you think there’s never been a “leak”?

Hell, just google “China” “torture” and you’ll get plenty results (amidst results for their water torture).

I’m surprised this is the first time you’ve heard about this.

My point is that your accusation is without proof, the same way the story is.

Bela Koraley 'I know 16 year old girls and these are not 16 year old girls"

So I’m supposed to prove something didn’t happen?

Here is something for ya…

If these girls are 16 then great and good for them…IF NOT, I hope China gets burned and the IOC takes their medals away. Is it just me or dose any one else think China is winning a lot of medals that they normally wouldnt win? I not saying anything I just saying.

I read that they prepared to win as many golds as possible at these Olympics. Program 119. The sports with the most golds available. And sports America, Russia do not dominate like badminton, women’s weightlifting etc.

Regardless of how old the gymnastics team is they beat the US. The US had their chances but they made a few mistakes. The last being falling during the floor routine which sealed it for the Chinese. My wife was a gymnast and she thought the Chinese team was tremendous.

Just sounds like alot of sore losers in this thread.

At the last Olympics Paul Hamm got the gold and Korean gymnast was given an incorrect starting value that was the difference between Bronze and Gold. Sure there are arguments on both sides.

It was a mistake that should never happened and what would have happened differently I do not know. But in the end you should move on.

Of course they’re cheating. Stupid to get caught. Did they think no one would notice old news articles?

As far as Paul Hamm beating Taeyoung Yang, that is as much his and/or is couches fault for not saying something about the start value being a 10 instead or a 9.9. Its just like in Golf, you are responsible for your own score card. Plus Hamm didnt break any rules.

But being a sore loser has nothing to do with anything. They set the age limit at 16 for a reason and that is the rule. If they broke it then they should be punished for it ,Male and/or Female. That goes for any country or any competitor including the US

Take Sacramone’s, and then give her to me.

Controversy re: individual scoring atm

Awesome.
