Anyone Doing NAGA at Wildwood, NJ?

It will be my first grappling tournament. Anyone know how much of a difference there is in quality between the open and master divisions?

I was going to make a thread about this. This is the NAGA in August, correct? If it is I’ll be competing with a handful of other guys from my school.

Hi Max. Just to clarify before I answer you. By “open” division do you mean “absolute” division.

Where in Wildwood is this event? What date?

I will be competing in the blue belt division, probably absolute. Masters is 30-39 so there are less people. I am 31 but i will be competing normal not masters. Also a slight possibility of intermediate no-gi, depends how my shoulder feels.

Update: Yeah this is the one I’m competing in. I’m going with about 6 other dudes from my gym. Should be a lot of fun.

No, I mean the normal no-gi division. Sorry for the confusion.

Cool. I see you’re from NYC. Are you at Renzo’s? I roll at Studio X. What weight class are you?

Not NYC, Long Island. I train at Panza in Glen Cove. I’m sitting at 175 right now, but I’ll be cutting to 159 for the NAGAs.
