Any Tips While Taking the Week Off

I’ve been training hard for about 8 weeks straight, three - four times a week with almost no cardio.

I was starting to feel some strain in my left shoulder and left tricep so I felt it was time I took a little break.

Do you guys got any tips on what I can do to retain my gains?

I’m thinking nutrition is key of course, with plenty of protein shakes but was wondering what everyone else does when they take a break.

I have to say, I did Waterbury Method for 4 weeks, took a week off, then ABBH for 4 weeks and then took a week off, and now that I’ve gone back to the Waterbury Method, I feel like I’ve lost all of my strength gains, even though I kept protein levels high and took BCCAs. I’ll admit to knowing very little about rest periods, but maybe completely refraining from lifiting is a bad idea, but others may have different ideas. But it definitely sounds like you need a break to keep injuries from happening.

No wonder. Switching programs every months is not giving your body enough time to adapt to it. Try to shoot for 8-12 weeks instead.
