Any Experience with This Sig?

That’s a great tip! I’ll try it.

This is another fantastic review. I’m surprised so many people here have one and nobody has anything negative to say about it. That’s a good sign!

I don’t think I’d be able to get used to the red dot either… but my husband wants one on his.

Thanks so much for the insight!

Lots of great content on Youtube. Be aware of information overload / analysis paralysis.

Master the fundamentals. Much like weight training… Keep It Simple Stupid.

Got to attend a Rickson Gracie seminar. Harped on the basics. Same thing applies here.

Every time you shoot… Warm up with the fundamentals. Draw, present, acquire, trigger / breathe control.

All of your advice is golden. I’ll keep an eye out for this!

I figured out which magazine causes the slide to not lock back after the last round. (Yay!) No biggie, I can just use the other two for now.

However, when I was practicing this morning with snap caps, they kept getting caught and the slide would jam; as if it was partially locking back and getting stuck there. Here’s what that looks like.

Chris thinks maybe I wasn’t pulling the slide back with enough strength, but I for sure was. Maybe I can take a video of that happening today.

I don’t really want to keep a gun I can’t practice with, so I think I’m going to get that Sig this weekend.

Note to anyone who might see this: Please correct me if I’m not using the proper vernacular.

I need to know how to say things so that people know how to help me and so that I don’t walk around talking like an idiot.

Remember to wear a white gi and leave your guns in a locked, secure location when you go train with Rickson Gracie.

Meant to say “Got to attend…” Rickson is a Jiu Jitsu legend. My bad

This is from an interview with Rickson. I don’t think it will derail the topic.

FC: What is your favorite multiple-opponent technique?

Rickson: My Sig-Sauer P220 .45 caliber pistol [laughing]. It is the best “technique” in this situation, I believe.

FC: Are you a good shot?

Rickson: Yes.

What?! That’s great to hear! I was just texting with my brother and he asked, why not just get a Glock? So I told him about all the positive feedback I’ve gotten here for the Sig.

Note to anyone who might care: the Walther jamming with the snap caps issue is also related to the magazines.

Maybe they’re not springy enough? Or maybe the magazine springs have gotten compressed too much? (I’m just guessing wildly.)

It doesn’t jam with the smallest magazine (which holds 7 rounds if your fingers are strong enough to fit them in — mine are not).

But for whatever reason, I can’t practice with snap caps using the larger magazines.

Only reason I’m bringing this up is because I feel kind of sad about trading in my first gun that’s only about 2 years old. :joy:

UPDATE: Dani picked up the Sig 365XL and blew some :fire:.

I shot it too and, damn, might have to get one too. Thanks to everyone here for the reviews and info.

Another update: The Sig P365 XL is fantastic. It’s a little zippy/springy compared to the Walther PPS.

I’m signed up to take private “draw from the holster” lessons and private lessons on shooting beyond the line, which are both prerequisites for competition shooting, where you get to walk, shoot, and hit targets/bowling pins.

It is SO much fun being a beginner and having low expectations for yourself! You can suck without any pressure because… who cares?

Bring her right thumb down into the natural saddle of the left thumb. Likely to cause friction on the upper slide when its extracting.

The way all of my instructors are teaching it is with a thumb-up position, and when I use it, my accuracy increases.

I’m sure many experts disagree with one another on the proper technique – just like in fitness – but for now, I’ve gotta go with what my current instructors are telling me because I’m taking all of their classes and private training sessions.

I always appreciate your insightful comments!

Interesting. I think i know why but its new to me. Glad its working

A bit late, but 365 XL is a great handgun for CCW and general home defense. Had it for around 6 months now and once you get used to it, it’s going to be miles ahead of most other manufacturers. No wonder Sig been taking CCW market by storm.

UPD. Went to grab rifle scope covers at Scope Covers - GritrSports.com and got myself a red dot for SIG as well. Gonna mount it on my home defense one, feel like it’s too bulky for CCW. :sunglasses:

Thanks, @BroTim. Update on our end: I liked Dani’s 365XL so much that I traded in my Glock 43 for one. Mine will soon have the new 15-round magazine though. Had to figure out a way to tell them apart!

I am admittedly a Sig fanboy, but for good reason.

I only deal with 15 round mags for my 365 XL for hand fitment purposes mostly. The others went into the bin of never seeing sunlight again.

I have about a half-pinky hanging off myself. Not too bad, but 15 is better than 12 and I figured I better jump on the higher capacity mags before another (ineffective and silly) ban kicks in.

Any experience with SIG rifles?
