1:30pm same as 9:30.
3:30pm same as 9:30.
5:00pm dinner. same as lunch. to night is 2 pounds of pasta ( hot dish ) one glass of water/ one more of milk. I drink water a lot thought the day. about 100 ounces.
6:00pm. mri black powder, and any other pre work outs I got.
6:30 gym.
7:45 done.
8:00 food. usually a chicken-burrito (one pound) rice ( 6 ounces) 4 table spoon of re fried beans , cheese, and guacamole.

What I can’t wrap my brain around is the fact that the OP claims to have gained 12 lbs in 3 mos 2 wks. Which IMO isn’t too shabby. Why can’t he figure out how to move past that mark? I’m guessing he accomplished that by eating more than he previously was and trying to get stronger. The game hasn’t really changed. Continue to eat more and more. Continue to get stronger and stronger. That’s the simplest way I can put it.

P.S. How’s that beagle with peanut butter taste? That sounds like a fair amount of calories if you’re eating the whole dog.

LMAO typo. hahahahaha. what the h is op?me?
I gained some fat doing it my way and I used pizza a lot to do it. which is not the best thing to do… plus I wanted to see if there was any better knowledge out here than either A: eat lots and just lift heavy ( some people say slow twitch fibers for instance need high reps and a slightly lighter weight…but I don’t see that working for me, and I can truelly run )or B: juice it lift heavy. ( not that I don’t lift I love lifting weights.)

I haven’t changed the amount I eat. Ill just up it for the first time I guess. more food more more more more. till Im at where I want and Ill stay there.

Yes, the OP (original poster) is you.

dont be afraid to eat “shitty” foods. It took me replacing protein bars with king size snickers, and adding cookies, bagels, pretzels, etc. to start gaining weight. DONT think that you can do a HEALTHY or CLEAN bulk, because you will fail. Trying to get 3000+ calories of oatmeal, chicken breasts and water is going to be damn near impossible. But throw in some whole milk, bagels, and hamburger meat, and it will start to seem too easy.

waxy maize ftw!!! wooooo

Are YOU kidding?

How do you think someone who is young and probably in college/near broke should be eating? Like an in-season pro bodybuilder?

Someone who is ~20yr old 160lb and struggles to gain weight whiel paying his bills (which he mentions creates some conflict with his budget) should take damn near EVERY chance he can get to eat food. This clean bulknazi shit has to stop. it’s the reason why we have 160lbers eating steel cut oats and steamed chicken breast for lunch and saying ‘im a bodybuilder’ all proud like while not having gained any weight over the last 6 months.

You eat in ways you need to in order to see progress, and not what some articles says. So far the OP can’t seem to eat enough to gain weight… and he is limited by income. I think the BEST thing he can do right now is get a couple of pizzas or whoppers and eat them.

And don’t give me that shit about ‘oh well those burgers and ‘dirty’ eating will make you fat!’. well gee, there is a thing called observation. if someone starts putting on too much fat, you TONE DOWN the food intake. Right now, that doesn’t seem to be te OP’s problem.

I’d just like to chime in and say that I’m a poor college student and I eat about 5k a day, I don’t eat the most ‘clean foods’ and yeah I do eat some pizza here and there but you can get a large amount of calories pretty cleanly on a budget. I do eat alot of bagels beef and milk, but I think you can go without the snickers bars cookies and pretzels lol.

I don’t know about you guys but during my first bulk a staple meal for me was: 6 eggs, 6 slices of bacon, and 2 chocolate poptarts, with 2 cups of whole milk.

100% clean baby!

I would never recommend snickers bars, but the truth is, many of these guys will hold back their own progress by being more worried about how “clean” they are eating instead of whether they are getting enough calories in.

A 20 something extremely active guy who trains with weights 6 times a week has very little to fear from a fucking hamburger or a pizza.

nope lol sa day if they did.
break fast so far was 2 cups of oat meal, fruit, yogurt, 64 ounces of water, multi vita, ( and I add 4 eggs when i have time to eat them.)

When you wrote this, you thought it was a lot, didn’t you?

If you rarely eat the “4 eggs when i have time to eat them” why mention them? For extra credit? Your breakfast sucked. It might not have sucked so bad if you actually ate the eggs everyday, but since you allow that to depend on time constraints, you clearly are lost on how important food intake is.

I ate 12 eggs this morning.

well…while I value your opinion you don’t need to be rude about it. I don’t give a dam about extra credit as I do about results. and no its not a lot, Sunday I had 5 eggs, 4 cups of oat meal, 2 toast, 2 bananas, 6 ounces of steak, a shake and then 30 minutes later two egg sandwiches, one roast beef sandwich, and peaches. that was a lot for me. I was being honest about what I eat this morning. and what I was suppose to eat.

today was one of the rare days I didn’t get them due to work constraints. no matter what I get 3.5-4k a day in caloric intake. and 200 grams of protein. (if not more.) my classes covered protein as = 1-1 1/2 gram for every body pound to grow. your diet is 70% of your growth potential. if not more on some people.

only 200grams of protein… Im cutting, sub 2000 calories and i still get around 200 grams of protein.

So your only getting 800 calories from protein, how much fat and carbs are you eating in your 4k calories?

I’m curious about that as well. Of course, from his picture/stats (and somatyping!) I can only assume that he handles carbs fairly well… the bastard.

And I can see the horizon of where this thread is headed… we’ve already gotten to clean vs. dirty, splits vs. TBT is coming soon! (I thought this was worn out after last week…)

potato skins
nachos
pizza

i present to you the holy trinity of ecto-bulking

Well… I guess it’s his metabolism that will dictate what kind of “dirty” foods he can get away with.

I think burgers, pizza, olive oil, and all you can eat buffets should be enough for most to gain weight so they wouldn’t have to rely on candy bars, cookies, cake and fries. But hey - if it works for you than that’s all that matters.

wo thanks for the laugh.

@ top post I eat tons of carbs. my info is a little skewed tho. but most of my diet is carbs. 425-500 grams was targeted for me. lol now IM just eating everything I can get. I know I eat more than that tho alot of the time.

Yeah but King size snickers, cookies, and pretzels? That’s crazy talk. You can’t tell me that you can’t gain weight with better foods that are just as cheap. Whole milk, eggs, peanut butter just to name a few. Come on now, cookies?

You know or you guess?

so 200 grams protein, 500 grams carbs

so only 130 grams of fat. I get that on my cutting diet aswell. Your essentially eating the same as im cutting + 500grams carbs.

I think you should up the fat and protein. Keep the carbs the same.

Im sure I could have, but why. I was looking for a short term method of gaining weight rapidly and it worked. Really, when you look at a snickers bar compared to a lot of the protein bars out there, the differences are almost negligable; except for the taste. I wouldn’t recommend making a lifetime habit out of it, but for targeted nutrition, forget about what you think is dirty and what you think is clean.

A lot of low carb diets advocate tons of bacon, sausage, and ground meat. Not exactly the “healthiest” stuff out there, but for the short time, there is nothing to fear.

If you are an ecto; as I was, i’d rather error on the side of eating too much, or eating too dirty, than the reverse. So remove the breaks and get to eating.
