What are your thoughts on antioxidants use (such as Vitamin C and aged garlic extract) in the winter time to ward off colds and timing of taking them to not negatively impact hypertrophy?
According to Examine, high dose aged garlic extract (up to 2.5 g/day) appears to significantly reduce the incidence of sickness. I’ve been using this approach this cold season so far with good success compared to my usual rate of catching colds from my kids and travel.
But I’m also following the Type 2B plan for hypertophy and have read that antioxidants can have harmful effects on strength training adaptations.
