Anna's Training Log Part 2 (Part 1)

Good analogy. Very well put.

funnily enough, I have a paycheck on my desk I’ve procrastinated cashing for 2 weeks now :rofl:

Funnily enough, you have about 4 weeks of training adaptations you haven’t cashed in either :laughing:

Anna, you are like some kind of cartoon character

@Cyrrex

It’s true, but that’s also why I don’t follow 5/3/1. I realized I kept trying to turn the training into stuff that it wasn’t and was basically taking an effective program and making it less effective.

To me, Jim is some sort of programming sorcerer. Somehow, despite everything that makes sense to me, if you do exactly what he says to do, you get bigger, stronger and faster. Sheiko is most likely going to hold a similar place for you. In that regard, you’ll one day need to make a similar decision as me: run the program as is and trust in the sorcery, or do something else.

Sheiko is 100% a sorcerer. Every time I feel like crap, that day just happens to be unusually easy

  • I’ve also somehow magically managed to develop the discipline to do every freaking rep of the main work

I’ve never considered you lacking in discipline when it comes to training: it’s the NOT training where your discipline is awful.

What he said.

That doesn’t surprise me

Yeah but Sheiko isn’t about max effort work and regular PR attempts. Just because you did what the program said doesn’t mean that you are benefiting from it like you are supposed to.

You need to develop the discipline to allow yourself to recover from training. Right now you don’t even have any goals (at least not that I am aware of) relating to conditioning, you are just counteracting any training adaptations that you would get from lifting. It’s like if you were drinking heavily every night after training, except drinking won’t give you sore knees.

(…just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! (that’s Godfather 3 for you young 'uns…)

Uhh, @T3hPwnisher is also 5’ 9", 200 lbs. NO ONE would infer that he is underfed or malnourished. Point missed.

Permission to snark?..

Always

This log should be renamed Groundhog Day.

(to be clear, that was snarky, but a genuine thought that popped into my head, not a deliberate attempt to be snarky)

edit: or maybe GroundLog Day for poetic license?

@alex44938

Do you have an email? I have a couple of writing pieces you might appreciate. They’re basically mock “guides” giving life/college application advice to Twinkies (Asian Americans)

You can just throw em up in my log. Probably simpler

That being said- alexyud97 at gmail . com

Apparently I can’t post word docs on the forum :sweat_smile:
Sent! Let me know what you think!

A little on the nose, but entertaining nonetheless :joy:

Thanks! I don’t want to derail my own log. Can you get on facebook messenger? I want to hear more of your thoughts
