Anna's Training Log Part 2 (Part 1)

Sorry misread the original. For deadlift I normally estimate 4-5 minutes per set, youre still good, especially fatigued

i definitely took longer rests than needed for mental prep…any tips?

Why did you take longer? Sounds like you took about as long as I would for 11 work sets so I’m not sure what you’re worried about?

Well, when I went to do the next set, it always felt easier than expected

In my opinion I’d rather wait a little too long between sets than not long enough. Rushing sets just leads to low quality reps. But if you know you’re waiting too long, and it’s an issue, just be mindful of it I guess. Not something to worry about if you have time to spare. When it comes.to strength training longer rest periods are generally beneficial

Please get some milk tea (or boba as Americans call it).

…Ok, now I want some but it’s currently 3:30am here :unamused:

Too sweet and caffeinated, not worth the calories - I’d send you some, but technology hasn’t gotten to that point though

Caffeine from tea is…barely existent…? The point was to get you to up your calories easily lol.

You aren’t crazy over milk tea? I guess you aren’t Asian enough

They tested a couple of brands and some had over 300mg- I can barely handle decaf

Actually, anything more than 40mg or so in a short period makes me tired and zoned out…

Let’s hope you’ll never need it then. And don’t even bother with energy drinks (for health reasons)

@anna_5588 Definitely gonna go against the grain with my opinion on how your training should look - why not keep walking and kickboxing? Idk. It sounds like you just need to increase caloric intake, @T3hPwnisher trained for and did a competitive 10 mile run in 2 hours while breaking several long-standing Press and Deadlift PRs over the course of a few months. I’m pretty sure you guys eat a similar quantity of animal protein (relative to your bodyweights), but you’re not slamming calories like he is, and I think that’s really your issue.

FWIW, I used to haul ass to the gym at 5 AM, squat, break PRs, and then sprint back to the school bus. Worked for me, because I ate like a motherfucker and got stronger. I mean, hey, I’m not THAT strong, but maybe my opinion is worth some consideration.

13.1 miles even, but who is counting.

Minus me, at mile 10, because it sucked, haha.

Wholly concur though. Food solves a LOT of problems, and teens and 20s is a fine time to make the most of it.

At that age, and for most people, it seems to be pretty hard to fuck your diet up bad enough to get fat. Tack on the massive caveat that you do train hard more than twice a week, of course. The young metabolism is pretty magical.

Hold my beer
