I getcha. Gym restrictions like that can suck, but you’re cramming a square peg in a round hole. Like I explained, the squat-bench-squat layout is a key part of the programming that delivers a big chunk of the benefits.
If you can’t keep that structure, it’s really not the right plan. Like trying to do Starting Strength without a squat rack and barbell.
I didn’t catch what your current training goal is, but zero doubt there are more effective plans that work within the current gym limitations without sacrificing results.
I’m guessing, if you’re doing Sheiko, your primary goal is strength? I’d look into clusters, EMOM, or EDT. Those will all squeeze quality work into minimum time.
I really like the style (high volume on main lifts with little else). I was also having a lot of success with it pre pandemic doing it this way and I kind of feel obligated to finish and see what I can do.
pretty tired (slept poorly) and deadlifts felt hard to get through… , raining in morning → gym crowd in the afternoon, had to use the business school gym to do accessory work. The gym only have dbs that go up to 35lbs so 5x5 lunges didn’t happen, replaced w/ 5x(5db thrusters-35lb dbs+ max lunges in rest of min)-1min rests, db press/flyes were done with 20lb dbs and supersetted w/bench work
Those weighted shrimp squats or whatever you call them would be a great replacement for 5x5 lunges. Better than thrusters.
And flies would be better supersetted with deadlifts. Let your pressing muscles rest between sets of bench.
sheiko was nice! felt iffy going in- literally almost passed out on first set of warmups, squats moved well though, did everything beltless, 20lb dbs for the press/fly things, supersetted with squats, used 50kg for lunges. Less ppl workout Friday afternoons turns out
Some press, incline bench, cable rows
… and…
I HIT 10 CHINUPS!!! @rroo@kdjohn@dagill2@cyclonengineer@Cyrrex
THis has been a goal for a while and I finally got it, weighing 14lbs more than when I first thought of it. The new goal is 10 pullups
Why do you use your phone to photograph your screen? Wouldn’t it be easier to just snap a portion of your screen using the snipping tool or something similar and just pasting that into your post?
Notes: felt really good going in and paid off, nervous about 80kg but felt comically easy everything moved easy and quickly, racks taken for good mornings so did 3x10 w/30kg, supersetted db press flyes with squat
