Anna's Training Log Part 2 (Part 1)

A shout out from the cynic @dt79 , love it.

Yes, meditation and breathwork, allegedly, release DMT and other hormones that can give you the “high” of which you speak.

And, no, you do not need to be into all of that “Woowoo” shit. What bro, you don’t believe in samadhi and the Akashic records?

And yes, the west commercializes everything, blends it all up, and then tries to sell it back to you at a profit.

It’s what we do.

Miss Yogi.

Cheers.

I think you have an incredibly inflexible mindset.

You take the general rule of “calories in->weight gain” and take it as absolute truth, causing you to be terrified of eating more.

You take the general rule of “being active->weight loss~fat loss” and take it as absolute truth, causing you to be terrified of moving less.

And, worst of all, you absolutely refuse to bulge on things that you consider true, even though there are literally close to half a dozen people who are far more successful than you at achieving your stated goals in this very forum telling you that you have it wrong.

And, tbh, I see this in virtually every post you make in the Flame-Free thread. You are either searching constantly for validation or giving your vehement agreement to an (often fringe) idea without actually understanding what the post means.

This matters because I think you’re doing the same thing with everything. I think you make up your mind based on incomplete, basic information, often truisms, that you read or heard and just run with it. You then seek validation to support these information or selectively read/hear what others write/say on this and just go with that selective information.

The daily work T3hPwnisher does and the way you took them is the most recent example of this. You literally didn’t bother understanding why T3hPwnisher does these and did them anyways.

You need to learn to let go.

TL;DR (kidding)

Anna presents as a nice young lady, affable and probably likable in real life.

Unfortunately, in terms of mentality, Anna IMHO is NO DIFFERENT than any of those posters with the what’s my BF% posts, the I-work-really-really-hard-but-why-no-progress posts, all the I-have-done-my-research-and-I-am-determined-take-gear-even-though…blah, blah posts. That’s what I see.

Seriously.

I honestly don’t disagree at all… I am very frustrated w/ myself too

probably

I kept putting off upper back work and it was affecting my posture and performance. THe daily work has helped, if only to build a habit

this is true, and one of the benefits of “confessions threads” in general

depends on your definition of “nice” and “likeable” :joy: I promise I am not a troll

This language is huge and I felt like it was worth highlighting.

I’m not sure what you mean- what would be a more appropriate choice of language?

Nothing would be more appropriate than what you wrote. That’s the most appropriate thing you could have possibly written. You feel trapped.

" Do not try and bend the spoon, that’s impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth…there is no spoon. Then you’ll see that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself. "

Only of my favorite quotes of all time. This is the kind of shit only someone like Lao Tzu (the only philosopher dude I really like) could come up with lol. Brilliant.

I’ve long said I’m not a cynic when it comes to therapeutic stuff that makes you feel better. People can go meditate behind a waterfall or fast for a year in a cave for all I care lol.

The placebo effect is real

Yeah, it is. Very fucking real. I wouldn’t have a career without it lol.

I only have a problem when I have to pay money for the superstitious stuff like fortune telling and fengshui and when people decline proper medical treatment and go for for the woo woo shit.

sounds like my aunt. My mom used to be like that, but she’s gotten better. Funny thing is that she now asks me about various medical things

But that’s good when it comes to most stuff. The martial arts scenes in some of the crappiest US movies and TV shows, for example, are now better than those in HK movies. In the 90s, people would watch HK movies because their action and fight scenes were far better than anything from the West by a long shot.

Asian people in general are very afraid of change and diverting from tradition. It’s why we still drink fucking green tea in a can like coke lol. You repackage the woo woo shit in a way that appeals to the younger generation, you make big money.

I don’t like it. But I acknowledge it’s brilliance.

Yeah, it’s like modern evangelist churches of the loony variety, which are all scams. The ones full of kids and even lots of rich folk, a charismatic pastor and a fucking live band. People who just can’t stand the traditional Christian stuff they were brought up with but aren’t willing to give up their religion flock to them.

Good God, the amount of money they make is astounding just judging from the price of rental of the venues they use or even purchase alone. I really want to know what their financial statements look like but they’re exempt from tax and auditing here.

Week 1: Day 2

(2/side, 3/side, 5/side)-32lbs with pauses on the squats

  • felt good, shoulders definitely appreciated the lighter load, legs got more work but still tempted to throw in more work

Update:
Went to the doc yesterday.
Good news:

  • Kidney function improved (creatinine in normal range)
  • FSH and Thyroid normal
  • cholestrol ratio good (very high HDL)

Bad News:

  • estradiol low and lining thin
  • LDL high
  • blood glucose 89 (used to be 79) → probably eating too much sugar and too much stress…

Don’t you fucking dare.

On your GPP day tomorrow, for your aerobic work, find a big steep hill or long set of stairs and walk up it in loooong strides. If you have a weighted vest, wear it. Remember though, it’s a 20-minute cap, and it’s moderate aerobic work, not intense intervals.

Were you fasted for this? If not, the number really doesn’t matter as long as it’s within range. 89 is still perfectly fine.

yep. The doc said it was fine and that blood glucose fluctuates, but the “upward trend” isn’t great. Hopefully, it is actually just a fluctuation and not a real trend

There’s more factors that affect fasted blood glucose than I have digits on my appendages. Don’t sweat it.

Also, nice work not adding work to the KB program. I know it’s only day 1, but that’s day 1 done correctly, which is step 1 to breaking your damaging patterns. @kdjohn knows his stuff.
