I’m not speaking for anyone but myself here, but I’m absolutely confident that these are true.
Rest assured my personal frustration comes from my inability to help you.

How much time have you tried to view it from her side? Most of the time, in this log, you seem to have a very adversarial relationship with your mother. But, if you are, as you say
part of that necessarily entails how to navigate disagreements in a productive manner rather than just being a diametrically opposed force in relation to the other.
I don’t mean to undermine your work here in this log, but at best I’d say your acknowledgement of your problems have been lukewarm. To what extent are you onboard with what everyone else has been telling you for over a year now?
Unless you accept, or even begin to consider yourself to have genuine issues with exercise/training and inadequate nutrition, I truly do not have any more advice to offer. If you have come to accept it, truly, then I’d argue that there is room for a dialogue with your parents where you can actually show them that you realise that you have tangible issues that need addressing but that it won’t be an either/or-preposition for you with regards to training. That you’ll still continue to train, but that you are working towards a sensible, sustainable, and healthy middle-ground.
At times the topic of addiction has come up, but here the “drug” is something that still can have health benefits. Not the way you are doing it though. In effect, going cold turkey is not an avenue I see here with you.
I’m sorry, but I’m going to have to bite back on this. You know what is necessary? Adequate calories. If you can’t meet your caloric needs, and are in essence killing yourself, then I don’t think it is fair to judge at all the sources of the calories people that care for your survival want you to ingest.
Week 11: day 4 (yesterday)
Making up push-ups- time pressured
3x(max push-ups+ walk 800m loop)- 75, 75, 53
Week 11: day 5
Pistols: 10x10/side- 25lbs, 90sec rests for first 5 sets, 2min rests for sets 6-8, untuned rest for last two
Rdl: 2x8/side, 1x6/side, 45lbs
Do you have days where you rest and recover?
Y’all are wasting your time and energy. She’s not going to do anything she doesn’t want too. I commend y’all’s efforts though, but it’s getting to be comical.
Very poor choice of words, considering.
I use this log as a place to rant and occasionally get some help with stuff that doesn’t necessarily have to do lifting ie school stuff.
I generally take sundays off and yesterday’s workout was very low intensity- basically the equivalent “daily work”
What happened to taking 3 days off each week? I thought doctors orders were to exercise less.
Don’t add work in “just cause”
I figured now that I’m eating more, I have more ability to train
But good point
The whole point was to eat more and train less…
Hot cold empathy gap I guess. It’s easy to commit in theory, then I notice certain training logs, read it, and feel like I’m not doing enough
The rest of my life has been quite lackluster too, so it compounds the feeling of general inadequacy
You’re eating more now? Like 100 calories/day or something?
How could you expect that to eliminate the requirement of rest days?
Like wanna_be and others have said, I think it’s a waste of time trying to help in this log when the underlying issues aren’t being tackled.
Honestly, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if everyone stepped out from the training and nutrition stuff. I never really expected it either. You guys have been more than patient and I certainly am not easy to deal with
I’ll stop asking for help from you guys too. Although, @cyclonengineer and @Bagsy, input on various academic struggles would still be much appreciated
Then don’t read other people’s workouts. It’s not helping you reach your goals.
As have been suggested numerous other times, find a hobby.
Mixed response to this. On the one hand “Okay” “Fine” and on the other “if the only voice your exposed to with regards to training and nutrition is your own you’ll be at the bottom of a quagmire in 15 seconds”
I have been asking myself for some time now if it makes a difference at all when people try to help and Anna ignores them vs. no outside voices at all.
It’s obvious that the advice given is not enough to trigger any behavioral changes but do you feel like you draw anything at all from it, @anna_5588 ?
Is this a feeling you’d be willing to explore with a professional?
Actually yes. I feel like I’m not alone. None of my friends really understand or care about my struggles regarding my fitness/nutrition.
If it helps, I think a lot of us spend time on these forums because we don’t have people around us to share our lifting with in real life.
This is one of the main finding of the paper I’m “co- author” of
