Update on the barbell situation- Turns out I misread the description and the one I’d been looking at ships in 3-5 MONTHS, not 3-5 weeks. All the other ones are 2-3x in price so looks like that’s not going to happen
My hope is that America will get it’s COVID situation under control so my uni gym can open in the spring
Fitting things in is diet speak, not gaining vocabulary. Mute me if you get sick of me calling you on your bullshit or ask me to stop. But you’re doing everything that I’m doing/did.
I was/am also the foodie (referring to flame free confession).
The thing is, whenever I read “advanced” nutrition articles or look at other ppls/athletes diets, it always seems like I’m breaking the laws of physics or something. Somehow the math doesn’t quite work out in terms of how much food/sugar/ whatever I’m able to consume without “blowing up”
Looking back now, I realize I wasn’t a naturally chubby kid. When I was at my heaviest, I was eating massive pork belly egg yolk steam buns for breakfast, philly cheese steaks as SNACKS, drank 2glasses of milk with every meal and sat on my arse all the time
And also, objectively: you don’t blow up. Just because you perceive it as if you are blowing up that doesn’t make it a reality. This is a body image disorder that you have. You see fat, retention, bloating, etc. post pictures and everyone else says “you look better”. It’s not because we’re trying to be nice it’s just that your perception of reality does not match up with what the rest of us perceive when we see you.
And, you cannot do this
the reason the math is broken is because you’re not at a healthy starting point. The “rules” and the “math” works when the body works. Not when it’s been starved and overworked and continues to be starved and overworked.
I haven’t checked it out much myself but whenever a mate of mine and me discuss how borked CICO is he repeatedly brings up Stephanie Buttermore and how she had to for a time eat something like 4-5000 calories a day just to “restart” her body and how she was making no headway when being more moderate with her weight gain. I can’t direct you to any videos but, there’s several out there on YouTube that you might want to seek out.
Earlier this year I was taking in 1800 calories and gaining weight. My step count now is the same as it is then. I’m now eating 2700-3000 calories. I’m losing weight this week. I was about 76 kg then and am about 75 kg now.
nothing felt sore, just weirdly weak and very sluggish- even breathing felt “heavy”,none of my strength movements were going to happen but mentally psyched so took a page out of @flappinit’s book. Felt 10000% better
@alex_uk tried pop tarts out of sheer curiosity, not worth it
Jumps: 5x4 broad jumps
Pistols; 2x3w/2 3sec pauses/side, 2x8/side, 25lbs
Press: 1x(10/side+9/side+8/side+5/side), 1x(7/side+6/side), 1x(4-1/side), 25lbs
RDL: 2x5/side- 45lbs in active side, 25lbs in other side
best workout in a long time, everything felt strong, was short on time so only got through 2sets of rdls- couldn’t have done much more either
I bought a box of strawberry frosted poptarts recently just for childhood memories’ sake. No regrets. But I don’t think I’ll be buying another box soon lol
