Anna's Training Log Part 2 (Part 1)

Nah, the “get as strong as possible while staying as lean as possible”

The strength goals are super reachable: just not with those constraints.

Just wondering, how achievable do you think my 4x bodyweight deadlift goal is?

In isolation, or in conjunction with other goals?

Very, so long as you are willing to do what it takes to get it.

Well… deadlifting 4x bodyweight would probably require some level of leanness
Conditioning is required to be able to handle the requisite volume

I agree on both points, however you need to find the minimum effective dose. You can’t get too strong for your goals, you can get too well conditioned for your goals or too lean for your goals.

You’re trying to manipulate the wrong variable (in my opinion). By keeping body weight low, you aren’t allowing the accumulation of muscle required to accomplish the lifting goals.

There’s a non-linear function of muscle mass to weight moved. When I went from mid 150’s to mid 160’s, the 10 lb. difference yielded a 45 lb. increase in max bench press, about 40 lbs. on the squat, and 60 lbs. on the dead. Another friend of mine did much, much better jumping from 175 to mid 180’s. Not raw (squat shorts, belt) but 685 squat, 700+ deadlift.

So, those 10-12 lb gains really had a very good yield. Had we stayed at the same body weight and just kept “trying harder” it would have just been doing the same things over and expecting different results.

Some level of leanness but you could still stand to gain a solid 5 lbs of pure fat (on top of more muscle)
Some conditioning is required but nothing like what you’re doing. It should be very low intensity and not take away from any strength endeavors.

Sprints!
10x(10kbs-45lbs+60m sprint)
3x[(15m side shuffle+sprint back)/side+(20high skips+sprint back)]

  • felt really good, really intense, glutes and hamstrings really felt it

I think you’re trying to justify the behaviour you’re already having and make it fit your stated goal no matter if that’s reasonable or not.

I also have the impression that when you say ‘lean’, you actually mean ‘skinny’. Also discipline is a word that often takes on a different meaning in here, than it does in other places.

Furthermore I routinely feel like a dick when I post my opinion/ advice in here but I have no idea how I or anyone here could get through to you.

you’re not a dick.
You, Allberg and dagill are ppl I’d genuinely want to meet IRL

I appreciate that. But judging from other people’s experience, who have met me in real life, you might be underwhelmed, haha.

Haha! I doubt that. If something goes wrong, I’ll at least get some good cheese :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I don’t even bring cheese to the table, I’m sorry to say.

On a serious note though, I echo @Koestrizer feelings exactly. I absolutely don’t want to come across as a dick or brow beat you, I just don’t have any other ways to get through to you.

Feel absolute shit and digestion completely off bc I ate yogurt and WAY too many peanuts  woke up at 94
Probably going to take the day off for good- not even add in an extra walk…
Honestly, I just want to curl up in bed and watch Netflix all day…

How old are you now and what do you deadlift?

I’m 19 and I deadlifted 120kg before covid

Hurrah, finally!

You know, IPF world record for your weight class in junior is 150 kgs. So I’m just saying you’re pretty darn strong. And you could be even more

Lol! Good genetics. My squat was piss poor (85kg)
