My former drum teacher was friends with Flo Mounier from Cryptopsy. He has even toured with them before. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think anything by bands like Amon Amarth work well with what you’re looking for. Tempo isn’t too fast, it’s not too overly technical, and anything having to do with vikings and battle fits perfectly with weightlifting and bodybuilding. Not necessarily angry, but decent enough.

Amon Amarth - Twiligh of the Thunder God

Primordial as some great stuff as well. Again, not exactly angry, but very strong lyrically…which usually works better for me than the actual music at times. Highly recommended for anyone Irish.

Or check out stuff by Anaal Nathrakh, Between the Buried and Me, Despised Icon, Suicide Silence, Behemoth, etc. Or any of the old school death metal and grindcore bands. How about some punk like The Casualties?

For me, however, I prefer stuff like this:

Leviathan

Deathspell Omega

Gorgoroth

Mayhem

1349

Too many to list…[/quote]

you sir, have good taste in music

Disturbed - Down with the Sickness

Highly recommended!

(groan).
This song is good, but the majority of us have heard it so many times we’re tired of it.

same for Bodies by drowning pool.
decent song, but overplayed.

noticed no-one has mentioned The Union Underground yet, alot of their stuff is good too

no one mentioned Hatebreed I will be heard?

Definitely. I thought that Whisper Supremacy and Once Was Not were overrated; None So Vile is obviously a given.

I honestly didn’t think Unspoken King was that terrible, but I don’t really mind deathcore. I think the biggest issue is that they still called it “Cryptopsy,” even though Lord Worm is no longer with them.

@ Vegg - That is fucking awesome! That is definitely a group of guys I’d like to hear sound musical advice from.

they’re not overplayed for me, this is all completely new, should i be ashamed to say that? but in all honesty, this input is great, i’ll have to put it all on a list and check them all out when i get home.

BTW i was watching some UFC clips on youtube and on one of them was a really energetic song but it never said what it was called, the guy singing (screeming) was going on about his mum hitting him, saing “please stop hitting me mum, why have you got to be such a bitch…” not sure if that is enough for people to get it, but i’d like to get that one.

I know, I know…

It might not give you a hard on anymore, but if you stop listening to it for a long time and give it a break, it sounds good again!

State of the Union - Rise Against

yes it is, so basically the reply i quoted actually had the song in it, perhaps it was some kind of subliminal thing.

Any older Korn and Five Finger Death Punch should do the trick… also a lot of older stuff from Atreyu.

you joined in april but it wasn’t till now that you found something to coment on? well in that case i’ll pay extra attension to this post, i hope it doesn’t disapoint.

i had a problem finding new artists that were like the ones i liked. Artists that could help me murder the weights. So i heard about pandora.com and checked it out. its a website where you can put in a song or artist and then it creates a radio station based on that artist. now i have a ton of new music to squat until my ears bleed to.
