Didn’t realize you had a log - is that shot of the wheels the pose you give the ladies out in ballston?
Nice progress, let me know if you want to get a lift in sometime.
Well I finally bought some Indigo, so I figured I’ll start posting in the log again. I tried to “boycott” Biotest products as a response to them shutting down SAMA, but I gave that up when I got back from the GOM and started working out again - I just love the damn products too much!
I may be dumb, but I’m not stupid and I won’t cut off my nose to spite my face. Bottom line is that I’ve never made as much progress using any other company’s supplements than Biotest. What can I say? Their shit works and I’m a fan.
OK, so I got back from the Gulf in September after a year of working/living on oil rigs 25 days out of the month and not working out consistently at all. Got home weighing ~240lbs. and NOT in a good way! We’re in December now and I’m down to 212lbs. as of this morning. So I lost almost 30lbs. in three months while keeping my strength consistent.
Supplements used: Metabolic Drive, ZMA, Z12, fish oil and some old HOT-ROX that I had on hand from a while back. Diet was basic: shake in the morning (2 scoops of vanilla Metabolic Drive, milk, OJ, 2 raw eggs, olive oil), ham and turkey sandwich for lunch, Protein (steak, chicken or pork) and rice w/ veggies for dinner. Work out was basic: 5/3/1 four days a week with some kettle belle swings, push ups and pull ups at home. Also did some barbell complexes at home with just an Olympic bar in the backyard. I lost about 10lbs. a month.
Now my prior fitness focus has never been on bodybuilding. I lifted in HS for football, in prison for stress relief and to get out of my cell, and after that I played rugby and was lifting for strength and training for speed/endurance.
Did a few cycles of AAS, worked hard and got big, fast and strong. After I stopped playing rugby, I just fell into more of a “powerlifting maintenance” kink of routine focusing on the big three and using a 4-6 rep range for everything. Kinda just dickin’ around cuz I was in the habit of doing so. I still looked good, so what did I care, right? Then I went to the Gulf, stopped working out, ate a shitty diet and got fat. For the first time in my life I didn’t LIKE the way I looked.
So I decided to set some BODYBUILDING goals for myself and put it on a time frame. I know, not exactly a “novel” idea for most of you on this site, but it is for me. So here I am. I’m going to do one of the Indigo workouts (haven’t decided which one - I’m still reading up on everything), and I’ll be taking Indigo, Carbolin 19, ZMA, Metabolic Drive, fish oil, MAG-10, Anaconda, and Surge.
My goal is to be in the most AESTHETIC shape of my life at age 40. I have a solid base, no current injuries and a year and half to my 40th birthday.
Here’s all the info for Indigo:
Age: 38
Height (inches): 71
Weight (pounds): 212
Occupation: commercial electrician
Primary fitness goal: lose fat
Secondary fitness goal: gain size in lagging body parts (arms, shoulders)
Calories consumed on training days: 3550
Calories consumed on non-training: 3400
Carb grams consumed on training days: 250
Carb grams consumed on non-training days: 215
Days per week I train: 5
The time of day I train is: 3:00PM or 7:00PM, depending on child care situation
When I train, my gym is: not very crowded
I have access to the following pieces of equipment: My gym has everything I will need.
I gotta figure out the diet/carb/calorie stuff - I’ll update it soon.
Now that I have a real goal, I’m actually motivated - I haven’t felt that way in years.
This should be fun.
PS I don’t post the weights I’m using on the internet. I’ve been working out for 25 years and I’m pretty strong. Where I live, I AM the strongest guy on my block. And I don’t need some asshat who’s been posting in the BB forum for three months so he thinks he’s got some street cred here “calling me out” like they did in the past with several guys I respect.
You know how it goes: first the call out, then the feeding frenzy, then you are “obligated” to post a video to “proove” what you said you could do. I’m really not interested in all that. All of my lifts will say “135” (if I even decide to go that specific - I may just keep this very general). In reality, I am a WEE bit stronger than that.
EDIT: I just realized that I called their protein supplement Grow! instead of Metabolic Drive. They used to call it Grow! back in the day, so it’s still Grow! in my mind (kinda like it’s still T-Mag in my mind LOL). I am using Metabolic Drive, not Grow!
HOLY !! This is so cool! I didn’t realize you logged !
Will lurk this bad boy for sure!

Let’s just say I’m exploring the concept of logging (it didn’t quite stick the last two times LOL). Since you’ll be lurking, I’ll try and keep it entertaining.
Haven’t had to count calories in a while, so I broke out the old Salter nutritional scale and weighed out everything that I normally eat (I eat pretty much the exact same thing during the week, so keeping an accurate record is fairly easy). I downloaded one of those fancy apps for my phone and entered all the data. It was pretty easy! I remember how hard it was ten years ago when you actually had to look shit up - now it’s auto populating while I type! And Biotest products were in the database! Gotta luv technology.
Keep in mind that I work as a commercial electrician, which is a heavy construction job. I regularly lift heavy pipe or pieces of equipment, pull multiple reels of wire thicker than your thumb and carry ~70lbs of tools around. And the job I’m on is an unfinished building, so it’s cold as fuck. I burn a LOT of calories just in my normal work day.
My daily macros Mon-Fri are as follows. They rarely vary from this - I am a creature of habit and once I find something that works, I stick to it.
My ratios are ~ 35/35/30
Calories: 3404
Prot: 211g
Carbs: 218g
Fat: 188g
On workout days, add a 140 calories and ~35g of carbs
On weekends, it’s kinda up in the air, but I always start with the same breakfast of eggs and toast (740cal, 32g prot, 57g carb, 43g fat). After that, it’s completely variable depending on company I’m entertaining, whether or not I eat out (rarely) and my schedule. I haven’t had a drink in over a month and a half, so limiting my alcohol intake I think has been key to my weight loss.
So that’s the nutritional breakdown for what I’m doing. Hopefully with the Indigo, repartitioning the carbs will help lower my BF even more.
It’s great to see you logging your training again and total respect for not wishing to share your lifts on the internet.
There are far too many guys on the internet who are stronger than the strongest guy you ever knew! lol
Good luck man. I will be following.

Thanks! I know you remember all too well about the “feeding frenzy” that some of these idiots around here get caught up in. Some of these clowns have no fucking class… I hope all is well with you and yours.

Didn’t go the the gym yesterday - felt I was coming down with a cold/cough so I stayed in and relaxed.
Today I went to the gym and did a light, low volume push/pull/legs (squats, floor press, rows) for about 3x6-8. Pushed the prowler around for a bit. Just got the blood flowing.
Used Surge for my peri-workout drink. Had some sopa de mani (peanut soup with potato and meat) and saltenas for lunch and parrillada for dinner (a great big heaping pile of meat, sweet breads, blood sausage and ribs) YUM! It’s my Sunday tradition.
It was my first time doing floor presses, I’ve always done standard bench press. I liked it. My shoulders REALLY liked it.
Still feeling a bit tired and under the weather. Work has been particularly strenuous this past week and will continue for most of this week - I’m pulling wire (multiple legs of 350MCM wire) and terminating the main switchgear. It’s really hard on the hands/wrists. But I’m NOT complaining! I’m happy to have a well paying job close to home.

I remember reading your posts in the lost forum that shalt not be named, so this is an unusual change of pace haha.

I say post your weights. That way people can follow your progression. This game is all about progression.
Who cares if some internet warrior wants to call you out? What is it to you?

Oh yeah, I do ! Haha.
All is well here - it’ll be our 3-year anniversary this coming February. Thanks for the wishes!
And it’s pretty cool you got a job as a commercial electrician. I’ve recently been taking a series of trade classes and I had a basic electrician’s class. Commercial electricity is a bit more intimidating than residential - you ever have days where you get confused as hell and have to take a 20 minute smoke break just to get your head back together? haha

Yup. I sure do miss the lost forum that shalt not be named! LOL Perhaps if I’m moved to do so, I’ll drop some knowledge here on my log.

Not gonna happen. You see, disrespect is disrespect, be it a keyboard, a phone, or in my face. I’ve stayed out of prison for almost 20 years now because I’ve developed the uncanny ability to avoid people, places and situations where I’m likely to be disrespected, confronted or blind-sided. That’s the main reason I don’t post in the body building forum or other forums where I have experience in. I’ve been working out for almost a quarter of a century. I’ve played rugby near the top level in the country. I’ve put up VERY respectable numbers while ON AAS and while OFF AAS. You think I don’t have anything to contribute to a conversation about lifting heavy shit? However, it is MY PERSONAL judgement that a noticeable percentage of the bodybuilding forums are populated by trolls, idiots and douchebags. Many whom are swinging on the nuts of one particular “guru”/training philosophy or another. I’ve seen the ENDLESS, POINTLESS, EXASPERATING debates that go on there. If those fuckers put half as much effort into just working out as they do debating about working out, they’d be making progress. I simply don’t have the time, patience or inclination to be drawn into that nonsense. As I said, disrespect is disrespect - even from an “internet warrior”. It would have me thinking homicidal thoughts, and that’s not a good place for me to be mentally.
I’m starting this log mainly out of respect for Chris Shugart, CT and and the rest of the team at T-Mag because I bought some Indigo and I’ve never focused on “bodybuilding” before, so I want to be in compliance with the program in case I have any questions. It’s also a way for me to explore avenues of communication with other members now that my favorite forum is gone. Ya feelz me?
