Chael VS AS
Mr. White simply ASKS to fail at PPV rates with Anderson, it’s going to be the SAME shit again.
I really hope Anderson brutally knocks out Sonnen, because if he doesn’t, as White said, he will wake up the next day being a free agent[/quote]
Cool he could fight Mousasi, Fedor, Hendo again, Nick Diaz.

Rather see him go to K-1 than SF. Silva vs. Hari anyone?

Not sure I’d put him in with the Super Heavies. Quite a few smaller guys would take him to task. We’d certainly get to see how good his striking really is.
Could we all agree not to use a picture of a pregnant gut hanging over a white towel as an avatar…please?
On a less important note, if Silva wants to retain any credibility he needs to finish whoever is put in front of him, regardless of whether they’re talented or not. Like it or not, that is what his paymasters at the UFC are paying him to do. If he wants to act like a clown then that’s fine, he can do it for free on his own time, but he shouldn’t expect to take home a nice purse for doing so.

Badr fights in the highest weight class in K-1. Saying you dont want him to fight Overeem but its ok to fight Badr makes no sense. I would like to see him fight Tyrone Spong or Carnage. That would be a better fight for him.
As for his actions. They were embarrising to him and the UFC. I would be pissed if I was Dana White as well. Its tough to sell guys when they pull this shit. Plus it kills Maia’s career as well. Look at Cote and Leites. Those two guys had their careers stopped because of Anderson’s shit.

Leites always sucked and lost to Sakara and Cote has been injured.
Leites got a bullshit decision over Marquardt but the way Anderson fought him made him look like shit. It kills his career. Do you think even if he starts winning again he gets another title shot in the UFC?

Leites ain’t in the UFC anymore. And I think Thales dropped Nate (overrated)in that fight and then Nate got points taken away.

Hari fights HWs and Super HWs. There are probably quite a few interesting match-ups for Silva in the K-1 HW division.
I wasn’t suggesting the enter the open weight GP. K-1 puts on other interesting fights.
My first choice would be for the UFC to put together interesting fights for him. If he were to leave UFC, K-1 would probably provide the most interesting match-ups out the remaining organizations.
-since when has the sport of mma become a private shareholder’s gladiatorial den?
A fight can be lengthy and boring, short and wet or even bizarre and comical. It is still a legit fight. You want to be entertained at all costs, go watch a movie.
-the challenger (ie Maia) has the obligation to better the champ, as he wants to show the world that he is better, does he not?
That is the point of a title fight. One has something -a title, manifested physically in form of a belt- that the other wants. So go and take it.
-Why the Drama? I understand that Drana “fkn” White always has some kind of vulgar superlatives trying to match his stream of profanities.
But why follow him?
-Maia looked beyond aweful. Too much respect and your chances to lose anything resembling a rythm even remotely increase exponentially.
Doing that against a cocky guy like Silva is idiocy.

Since professional promoters incorporated companies, invested their money, signed fight contracts and obtained sanctioning from relevant regulatory bodies.

Correct, except you’ve got the last bit the wrong way round. If YOU want to see a fight where anything goes, including goofing around, then go watch some amateur / unlicensed comp or hang out in bars and wait for the action. However, Silva is contracted to the UFC to fight in accordance with certain rules. No one is saying “swing for the fences or else” but at the same time, Silva ought to recognise that the value of his contract is proportionate to his ability to sell broadcasting rights, PPV and tickets.
A better highlight reel could have been made for Carnage. Either that, or maybe it’s more impressive watching his fights in full.
Around the 1:47 mark is Corbett’s first fight with Clifton Brown. If you re-watch the KO, it’s an overhand elbow which KOs Brown. It clips him directly on the chin, fantastic KO which shows Corbett’s accuracy…You can’t really tell, on first glance, if only watching the fight in that highlight reel.
