Stop sucking his dick, you know exactly why people are upset over this.
I don’t care why people are upset over this to be honest I just think it’s funny how bent out of shape people get over a fucking fight. Some asshole on this thread said he lost respect for me as a person and started talking about war and mercenaries. I mean for Christ’s sake guys it’s just a fight, most of you didn’t pay and it’s only 45 dollars for a fight anyways. It’s not like there weren’t any decent fights on the card.
The person most bent out of shape is you…
Not really I’m not the person saying Silva ruined the sport or is a disgrace really read some of the posts here it’s shocking it sounds like Silva is Osama or something.

For the record Silva beat the crap out Maia…did you see his face after the fight or his lead leg ? He beat the shit out of him in 2 rounds and then got so frickin bored he walked away. Just like the king cat in our barn toys with a mouse for about 30 seconds and then is so bored cause he’s already had ten for breakfast he leaves it for the others and has a nap.

Sure it’s not as fun to watch as a screaming bloody fur-fest with a black weasel but why would you expect it to be ? Why would you pay for it and expect it to be ? This shit is on the UFC not SIlva. GIve him a fight to get up for and quit insulting his talent and asking him to put himself @ risk for shit that is waaaay beneath him. If any of you girls whining about Silva and how he “ripped you all off” had any real skill, talent or ability in life whatsoever and your boss kept asking you to shovel shit for two years rather than push yourself to the limit you’d behave exactly the same. Everyone would. Everyone with any pride anyway.

Really? Good fighters like CroCop, Wanderlei, and others who have been less than stellar in the UFC?
Pride where Chuck Lidell came and got his ass handed to him by Page who wasn’t even their top fighter at the time.
Because, you know, Chuck was barely getting into pro fighting at that time, and experience definitely has nothing to do with winning at that level, huh?

Did you catch the stupid? Dana sent Chuck to compete in the Pride MW tourney when he was the UFC’s CHAMP.

ando disgraced himself and the sport, at least feed him sonnen before moving him up to LHW… sonnen would probably get tapped, but at least he’d try and rip silva’s head off… sonnen could actually beat ando IMO, on the ground with some brutal GNP.

ando lost his invincibility status in that fight, people saw him run for 3 rounds, his aura = broken.

Whatever, you guys are overthinking things Silva will continue to humiliate challengers at 185lbs no matter who it is.

Actually i would love to see Manhoeff VS AS.

Sexyama would give him some trouble too

Silva lost respect…he didn’t lose the skill to wipeout the MW division, imo.

And while Sonnen will make Silva fight…he doesn’t have any brutal GNP. You can’t rip someone’s head off by laying on them for 5 rounds.

Sonnen is only going to garner fans because of their disappointment with Silva. While people are voicing their disgust with A.Silva…they really want to see him destroy someone. Silva didn’t lose any fans…watch and see.

He lost me as a fan.

I’ll watch him fight again, but I doubt I’ll pay to do so.

In response to Silvas douchebaggery, Maia should have laid down on the ground taunting Silva to get in his guard, while acting frustrated that he didn’t. Silva is good, but I’m not a fan any more. Would be fun to see him demolished by some LHW guys.

Supposedly he’s facing Sonnen at UFC 117.

Did you catch the stupid? He lost to Rampage Jackson, who held the belt for a really long time in the UFC, who beat Hendo, who was one of the best heavyweights when he was focused for a fight which was the majority of the time.

Good lord child watch some fucking mma. Do you even read what you write? Page got his ass kicked by Wandy in that very tournament which was in 2003, it wasn’t until 4 years later in 2007 when Page beat Chuck for the LHW title. Page was not even Pride’s best MW. He was probably their fourth or fifth best. And Page did not hold the belt for a long time dip shit he had a whopping one title defense before losing to Forrest Griffin. Stop talking about shit you have zero clue about, take some time watch some fights and then come back when you know what you are talking about.

Hey, at least I don’t need to hang off the nuts of Anderson Silva. And when he beat Hendo, Rampage actually had the belt. If my math adds up, 1+1=2. 2>1. Holy fucking shit.

I’m not sure what you are saying but Anderson is a MW Page is a LHW and Hendo fought at both. When I said Page only had one title defense that means he fought for the belt won and defended it, defending the belt once is not holding a belt for along time like you suggested. And go away with this nutgrabbing bull shit go to Sherdog they’ll love you there.

You best be trolling.

Pride FC held one of the largest event on Auguest 2002 with Shockwave/Dynamite. The collapse of Pride had NOTHING to do with promotion. If that were the case,Pride would have bought out UFC rather than the other way around. Prides production value were in another orbit compared to UFC. (i know this is merely subjective but I can find plenty of people to agree with me on that) Pride fucked itself when it played with the Yakuza resulting in a termination of a contract by Fuji Tv. No other buissness wanted to touch Pride when ties with Yakuzas were discovered. UFC didnt kill Pride,Pride killed itself.
You’re mostly correct…The part you’re not correct on is businesses not wanting to touch Pride because ties to the Yakuza were discovered.

Pretty much all MMA organizations in Japan have ties to the Yakuza, same with the pro wrestling organizations.

Pride’s situation was a little more complicated.
God damn it, that means i’ll be threatened by yakuza when i move to japan and fight around there? God damn me, i’ll train at Grabaka and Akiyama dojo
You’d only be threatened if you do something stupid. They don’t really bother fighters, they generally treat them with respect.

An example of something stupid would be this…Marcelo Tigre had a hit put on him after his fight with Yoshiki Takahashi. Takahashi’s in with the yakuza, and Tigre (a very dirty fighter) eye-gouged Takahashi excessively, to the point of getting disqualified.

A few people had to help Tigre hide & flee the country.

When I heard about the “hit” put on Tigre, I thought it was a joke or an exaggeration…I asked a fighter in Japan about it, it turned out to be true.

Don’t take Marcelo with you, and you should be fine.

Sonnen is a better match-up than Maia or Leites, but probably not by much. He should have a better chance of getting it to the ground, but he’ll have to do that 3 out of 5 rounds and keep him there while staying busy enough to win those rounds. All while not getting knocked out.

Hopefully we get to see an interesting match-up for Vitor. Another quick knockout over a game apponent should create some hype for Silva vs. Vitor. There is not really anyone else to talk about at 185. If Cote could put something together in the next year, he might get another crack after Vitor.

Wonder if they would consider pressuring Alves to move up? I would imagine Alves could put together a pretty serious striking camp if he didn’t have to worry about being taken down.

Alves would be at a huge reach disadvantage and he got dropped and lost striking with GSP.
drewh wrote:

I got the impression watching the GSP/Alves fight that GSP did that well on the feet because of his takedown ability. Alves’ style of striking, given the right timing, is vulnerable to the double leg, and of course Georges got that timing down.
Silva on the other hand would not take him down, that’s almost a given.

All that said, Silva would fuck up Alves. It is a fucking horrible matchup for the guy. While he is a powerful striker, I don’t remember him knocking anyone out. He is good at using the leg kick though. The guy to beat Silva on the feet is one who can box with him from the outside and defend the counter (Vitor at MW, Shogun, Lyoto and probably Jones in the future at LHW), or move in to close range and bully him in the clinch (Sonnen will have trouble, at LHW maybe Page).

Alves hasn’t shown the ability to do either.

FOR CHRIST SAKE, I JUST HOPE UFC GOES BANKRUPT!

Chael VS AS

Mr. White simply ASKS to fail at PPV rates with Anderson, it’s going to be the SAME shit again.

I really hope Anderson brutally knocks out Sonnen, because if he doesn’t, as White said, he will wake up the next day being a free agent
