And We Were All Overreacting Over BLM?

I was referring to your hypothetical scenario of “open story time”…

Sure, that’s fine. Should that not be allowed? Should trans people not be allowed to teach at a public school? That wouldn’t just be story time, but pretty much the whole teaching experience. I think making it a requirement that the reader is trans or a drag queen is wrong, but it is also untenable to prohibit someone from reading to children based on their sexuality (excluding known child molesters / sex offenders of course) if others are allowed to do so.

You’re obfuscating. I was referencing your hypothetical scenario and pointed out a logical inconsistency in it.

You stated:

which is a value statement by you … some parents MIGHT have a problem with it, and this hypothetical isn’t just about you, which I’m sure you’ll agree with

You go on to say:

To which I said:

I’d think it’s fair to assume a drag queen showing up to an open story time would be reasonably unexpected. So, how would a parent who did not want a drag queen reading to their kids during public library story time know to avoid it if it’s no announced prior a drag queen will be reading?

I didn’t say shit about banning anyone - you’re reading too much into what I’m asking you - your hypothetical is inconsistent is all I’m illustrating.

There are 4,300 religions in the world. Do you not have an issue with the Bible being taught at public school, or do you just not have a problem with a half-assed, equal teaching of all religions in public schools in lieu of any math, reading, writing, etc.?

I think you could devote 15minutes to each religion over the course of an entire school year…as long as nothing else is taught.

Sure they have a right to have a problem with it. They don’t have a right to stop a drag queen from reading in the library. Kids are going to see things parents don’t want their kids to see. We aren’t obligated to prevent the kids from seeing those things.

It is fairly common. Happens at my local library. They also have days of the week where kids read to dogs.

You can’t prevent all situations you don’t want your kids exposed to. So the answer is they can’t in all situations.

Maybe I inferred wrong? You are okay with drag queens reading to kids at the library? I wouldn’t even have posted back if that is the case.

I think most people when creating these courses are going to dedicate a small amount of time to religions that are very small and more time to Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, other big religions.

I do have an issue with a specific religion being taught as the truth in a public school. I don’t have an issue with a world religions class.

I don’t want to insult your English language skill but that is what I said. Where in that quote do I say ALL American blacks?

OK. Like maybe, I should go work in a ghetto. Oh wait, I worked in several. Or maybe live in a ghetto. Oh wait, did that too. Maybe learn some other languages. Oh wait, I grew up speaking two and learned three more after. Maybe live in another country? Did that too. Maybe join the military? Did that too. Maybe marry someone from a different cultural, ethnic, racial and linguistic background? Did that… twice.

Here’s a hint: just because someone doesn’t agree with what you believe doesn’t mean they speak from inexperience. That’s rather narcissistic on your part.

You still need to spend a few years living off welfare and serve a prison sentence to round out that resume.

Maybe not since BLM just removed disrupting the nuclear family from its platform. Although they probably still believe it.

They really took it off their site? It used to have that on the Toronto BLM site too but they took it off some time ago, I guess that and their obsession with the gay pride parade wasn’t too popular.

They made the mistake of showing their cards too soon, while most people won’t look at the site for themselves it’s there for everyone to see and the word will get out. Calling opponents racists or uncle Toms is easy until they expose BLM as the communist scum they are.

Some other interesting quotes from their site:

“Our network centers those who have been marginalized within Black liberation movements.”

So basically BLM is run by the dregs of black America

"Black liberation movements in this country have created room, space, and leadership mostly for Black heterosexual, cisgender men — leaving women, queer and transgender people, and others either out of the movement or in the background to move the work forward with little or no recognition. As a network, we have always recognized the need to center the leadership of women and queer and trans people. "

Despite the fact that it’s mostly straight black men being killed or injured by police, this movement is for LGBT feminists. Maybe someone needs to tell black men in America what is going on here.

Yes. Antifa for black people. Antifa and BLM are just the people that everyone has always laughed at. No one likes these people. Probably not even whatever family they have. They were the Trenchcoat Mafia back around 2000.

I say the same thing. Take any random sampling from any protest and you’ll have an objectively unattractive mutant that is mad at life.

I literally quoted what you said. When you refer to a group of people (in your case, “American black people”) without qualification, it’s implied you’re talking about the whole group. Your later comments were a bit different, but your original comment did imply ALL “American black people” whether it was intentional or not.

I appreciate your service - both as a teacher and member of the military.

If we don’t agree on this…

…then there’s probably not much we do agree on, lol.

No. It’s not. What grammar rule are you basing that on?

Italians invented pizza. Black Americans invented Jazz. The English invented soccer. Am I implying that all Italians invented pizza? All black Americans invented Jazz? Every English person invented soccer?

When you say, “It’s American black people’s idea of Africa”, how many American black people are you speaking for exactly? A few? Most? Two? Some number between 0 and 100% surely. I hope you can see the ambiguity. You’d think someone so quick to admonish another’s English language skills would be better at expressing himself in the language.

More than one, fewer than all. And it’s something that I first heard from a black man.

Well, yeah. I could always make a number up but I’m not a member of BLM. Would you feel better if I said 23 Italians invented pizza? Humans invented the bow and arrow. Should I change that to 54 humans invented the bow and arrow?

You’d be wrong … it was 42 … it’s always 42

Nice try kid.

The answer to this is very simple. It was a joke. It had to be a number, an ordinary, smallish number, and I chose that one. Binary representations, base thirteen, Tibetan monks are all complete nonsense. I sat at my desk, stared into the garden and thought ‘42 will do’ I typed it out. End of story.

That’s exactly what someone would say if they’re trying to throw you off the scent … it’s 42. End of story.
