holy motherfucking weight gain dude! and I thought I went batshit crazy when I first started bulking after last year’s diet.

but that’s good, at least you recognized you probably need to throttle back a bit. I’ve been wondering how much more of it you could take.

have you been using okcupid much? my little bro (air force pilot down in Philly) swears by it and other dating sites… he says he gets an average of 5 bites a week, and maybe 1-2 of those turn into hookups by the third date. gotta love technology. prob also helps that he goes after successful, slightly older women (in their 30’s)…
Lol. Yeah, man, my body can do crazy weight fluctuations. Similarly, I can lose it back off almost as quickly… usually 4-5 days tops. I had one last “hurrah” which I barely gained weight from, at all, which included two pizzas, a bag of cookies and a box of snicker doodles. Will detail more further down…

OkCupid, actually, no. I basically stopped using it all together a month or two ago. I was so fucking busy with the diet and my mind was not in it to do much socially. I am getting up with this chick this week I think for a first date that I met on Ok. I had been slow-playing the fuck out of it and she had as well, but we’ll see. She seems really cool and is actually into exercise. So, fingers crossed.

Just saw this. Little tidbit for you. Use random mediocre white guys. Tyler Hansborough for the Pacers and Chandler Parsons for the Rockets. There has to be a cheat code or something with them, because if you actually try and use them they will take over a game. No joke.

Ohh, and if you ever intentionally use the Heat, then you have no soul
Lolol. No, I don’t use the Heat… I’m more of a Fantasy draft guy. I do like nameless white guys… Dunleavy is always winning the Sixth Man of the Year award when he’s on my team. Hansborough was a BEAST when I played against him the other day, Parsons… lol. Haven’t had problems with him yet.

I pick my Nuggets and throw on the throw-backs… (By the way, I have a SLICK 59fifty hat on its way here: Access Denied )

I’m definitely getting use to this one. They didn’t improve post play as much as I had hoped, and I don’t like the new lack of ability to run plays smoothly. Definitely re-configuring my entire strategies… blah.

So, let me detail a little bit where I’m at, if nothing else for me to see for the future.

On Friday night my roommate and I had our final “hurrahs” for eating shitty. She’s fairly damn in shape, but had been fucking off the last few weeks eating as I had… obviously not quite as bad, though. She got a bag of Oreos and a frozen pizza. Through the day I had a large Papa John’s, then later got a frozen pizza, box of Snicker Doodles and a fairly substantial bag of M&M/Chocolate Chip cookies. It was pretty fantastic, I’m not going to lie.

Saturday she and I went for an EPIC hike in Boulder. Got fairly lost and ended up going for like 6-6.5 hours, which is a lot more than we were planning. I have this insane trifecta of blisters on the ball of my foot, and movement is pretty tricky today overall.

Today I was below 220, which is great. I should be back to around weight by Tuesday-Wednesday.

This next two weeks, from yesterday to the Saturday after next, I will be observing a strict RFL-inspired diet. Basically, what I was doing before with a shit load of HumaPro shakes as my main/only protein source. I am cutting way, way, way back on cardio, which I was doing probably around 1.5-2 hours a day of. I am not strictly doing RFL because I don’t fucking feel like it, but what I’m doing works and is very comparable. Slightly more calories and macros, however.

Also, I am de-loading for at least the remainder of this week. I’ll keep moving and maybe do some half-ass workouts, but I’m not totally sure. My body needs to recover before I start running DC following these two weeks of hell.

I am really going to try my best to stave off temptations for a dirty carb load this weekend. Probably not worth it. We’ll see. I’m going to make a conscious effort to just go drinking instead, which should probably keep me in check if I do so successfully. Especially if I’m dating again, I need to look presentable and at my best.

So, that’s about it. Kewl ztory bru.

Yeah post play kind of blows this year, but they fixed a lot of things like Paul Pierce’s shot, so I’ll take it. I’m a ABA throwback lover as well, because (sadly) I’m a die hard Pacers fan. lulz.

Diet seems good. Once you lean out, then really start killing it on DC, you’ll blow up (in a good way). You def seem to know your body well enough that with something like DC, you’ll reap it’s benefits tremendously more then the average trainee.

… you never mentioned that the roomie was a she

Hell, I’d be excited as a Pacers fan. THere have been some really good pieces added in in the last few years, they could end up being a legitimate contender with another piece or two. I mean, they ARE in the East… (though no one there will beat Miami right now, even NY/ORL/CHI.)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, man! It’ll be a learning experience to try to be a little more cautious with my dietary endeavors while not dieting. I won’t say “gain” or “bulk” anymore, but you get it. I’m hoping the body can stay nice and healthy, but I’m feeling great going into this right now.
fr0IVIan wrote:

Ha! One of them is. She kind of has a man-friend right now, though… sorry bru.

Girl has a lot of potential, though, we can’t wait to get her in a gym with some guidance when she gets a “real” job here again, she’s a recent cross-country move-ee as well. She’s like 4’11", 100 lbs, and can bench 115 or something like that. Fucking cool.

Random lunchtime thought and revelation, but important enough to log down:

I HATE the feeling of Gwen now, and want to end this diet for the reason that I can get off this shit alone.

At first it was novel and kind of “different” being uber-hot, twitchy, and scatter-brained, but I’m over it. Ugghhhhhh.

215 this morning.

Fucking hell. I said I wouldn’t update until lifting again, but w/e. I’m terribly bored at lunch.

Here is a concise and accurate breakdown of my diet over the last few days;

TUESDAY - Fast until 6pm - Broccoli and Almonds, and one more round later in the day. ~1,000 calories
WEDNESDAY - Big portion of almonds during lunch, plus a Supreme Protein Bar… a few almonds later in the day. ~1,500-1,700 calories
TODAY - 3 oz almonds so far… and I have no food except carbs at home. Might end up being a 510 calorie day. Cool.

So, today and tomorrow, and then I’m going to kill it on Saturday. Going snowboarding at A-Basin, so that should be fun. I will be gnarly fucking carb depleted to an excessive degree, so I’m hoping that goes off without any issues. I will be Skiploading upon my arrival home, and hiking on Sunday (70 degrees woop woop.)

Also, I’ll touch on this later (running out of time, quickly,) but I am Skiploading into the off-season due to my relatively low-carbohydrate approach throughout the week.

Wish me luck, anyone who may be reading, it’s a mental and a physical test at this point. Blargh.

Luck wished

luck?

I think you might need a suicide watch

or at the very least, hide everything hard, sharp and/or pointy, and warn others to stay away if they’re eating cookies, pie, pizza and the like

Lol, thanks spar4tee, much appreciated.

Fr0, you kill me man. It’s all good at this point now, I believe, so no suicide watch needed soon, hopefully.

Last night I fucking Skiploaded! I was going to the store to buy supplies when it dawned on me; Fuck, why not just crank it out tonight anyway? Here’s my rationale:

 • Work is casual dress on Friday. Meaning I can wear jeans and a fat kid shirt and no one will ever know the difference. Terrific.
 • Being that I have nothing / no money to do anything with today, I will work out afterwards since it’s been over a week now. And carbs in me.
 • Tomorrow I’m going snowboarding all day. I will still have energy from the carbs for this, without quite as nasty of a bloat/water retention.
 • Going for an epically (warm) hike on Sunday, which by at this point, by my calculation, will bring me back to depleted level, or close. Granted I stave off temptation for pizza after snowboarding that I know will be present and omni-looming. (Seriously, there’s something in particular about pizza after snowboarding, my skinny friend has affirmed this.

So, we’ll see. This next week I want to probably work out a few days, let my body start getting use to some calories and carbs on the reg again, and slowly start bumping them up as I work back towards DC.

Today I weighed 220 after the Skipload but, again, by my logistics and estimation, I should be back to close to 200 before Monday. Will keep err’one updated.

Planning on maybe some kind of big upper today… not sure how I want to configure it. As in… start fucking with some DC principles now, or not. We’ll see!

So, awesome. First DC workout happens… soon! Writing some of this post beforehand, and I’ll write more when I get back.

Today’s eating has definitely improved. I’m tracking my calories meticulously again from herein, just so I can keep better tabs, really. What I plan on doing, almost certainly, is maintaining the 200-210 range until early summer, where I may(will) probably start trying some stronger supplements, make a crazy final push to get lean since I’ll be highly active and it’ll be nice. Plus, I am doing the Tough Mudder here in June which will be fucking HARD and I would like to be in very good shape for that. Along with climbing 14,000 foot mountains every weekend… literally. So, awesome.

Holy fuck. DC is awesome. Chest was odd… used a wider grip than normal and the weight was too much. Will adjust NW. Also, couldn’t do a “real” extreme stretch for lats… it was fragmented. Had no wrist wraps to hold myself, and I certainly don’t have the grip strength. Everything else was terrific, though I will lower the “heavy” Meadows Rows set a bit.

Chest / Shoulders / Triceps / Back

Smith Low/Mid Incline Press
185 x 4/165 x 6/165 x 4 = “14” (Going to stick with 165 NT, not wider grip than normal.)

SHIPS
145 x 9+(5+1)+(2+1) = 16 (Perfect rep range right now, I think.)

OHP Tricep Extension Machine
255 x 8+4+(2+1) = 13 (Bump down a bit NT)

V-Grip Pulldowns
150 x 7+4+3 = 14 (Also, down a bit NT)

DB Meadows Rows
110 x 7 (little less lat activation than I’d prefer, 105 NW)
90 x 14 (obvi not enough)

10 minutes cardio.

Zombie.

Thought I’d share my diet as I’m transitioning back to “real” eating. Today was pretty good overall, methinks. I’m going to be toying and configuring with carb cutoffs / FMC and how it’s worked into my schedule. Work in progress.

6:30 am - 2 scoops HumaPro
10:20am - 2 scoops HumaPro
10:40am - 84g almonds, 1 Supreme Protein Bar
6:00pm - 2 scoops HumaPro, 2 scoops Chain’d Reaction, 1 scoop HemoRage
6:30-7:00pm - 2 scoops Chain’d Out, 1 scoop Chain’d Reaction
8:00pm - 2 scoops HumaPro
8:30pm - 224 g 93% Ground Turkey, 56g almonds

TOTALS, not counting HumaPro (should be 250-300 g protein, 50-100 calories or something added to totals)
2,124 cals
169 g carb = 31%
100 g protein = 18%
136 g fat = 57%

Percentages/numbers are a smidge off, but it’s close. Working back up… slowly.

I am fucking SORE.

What are SHIPS?
spar4tee wrote:
What are SHIPS?
Smith
High
Incline
Press

For shoulders… love 'em. Plus the Smith machine at Armbrust isn’t counterweighted, which is very sexy. So all poundages used are actual.

For the record, I did forget to mention this, all reps performed by myself on DC are full ROM with a nice, smooth, and controlled negative.

My training partner has never done a Widowmaker before in his life. So… tomorrow will be an interesting day and a, uh… learning opportunity? lololz
SSC wrote:

lol that’s your body saying wtf are you doing starving me and doing this new shit

Lol… right. Man, I definitely did not starve myself, though. I am in EXTREME damage-control mode right now, after this weekend. My weight yesterday was at an all-time high. I’m seriously not even going to say what it was. Needless to say I’m like 13 lbs lighter already since then, so a lot of it was extraneous fluff and shit sitting in my stomach.

Should be no carb-loads whatsoever this weekend, as I plan on Saturday being kind of a marathon shit-show event, especially with how little I drink these days.

So tonight is 1B of DC… the fabled leg day. Lucky (well, unlucky?) for me, I’ve done DC-inspired leg stuff to a large degree in the past, so I know full well what I’m getting myself into tonight. My training partner and roommate, however, has only heard my stories and hype about how bad Widowmakers are. I hope he “gets” them, because a lot of times he tends to wiggle and squirm under weights when things get difficult and almost look panicked. He’s not very mentally strong either, which scares me. The other day he just straight quit halfway through the extreme chest stretches. Granted, they are fucking TERRIBLE but I almost literally yelled at him and told him to stop being a pussy. Haha. So, yeah, I hope he “gets” Widowmakers and the fact that they’re supposed to push one’s mind/body/soul/spirit/existence to an unparalleled level.

EDIT: Lol @ me typing that beforehand. He couldn’t make it with me because he was working late or something.

That being said, here’s the rundown:

Biceps / Forearms / Calves / Hamstrings / Quads

HS Preacher Curls
1+25ps x 13 + (6+1) + 4 = 23

Rope Curls
280 x 14

HS Standing Calf Raises
2+40ps x 12

HS Leg Press
8+10pps x 5 (Little too heavy.)
6pps x 24 (Little too light.)

SLDL
225 x 18

Then, I totally ignored conventional wisdom of bastardizing the DC program and did a whole set of hanging leg raises, not to failure.

And 30 minutes of incline steady-state cardio.

Worst mistake ever = Accidentally buying honey roasted(sugarynomomom) almonds instead of the normal kind. Ate a shit load of them tonight. It’s straight, calories were low(er) and I killed it on cardio today.

Legs are RETARD sore from the workout yesterday. For the first time in probably years my biceps are sore, too. Go figure.

Lastly, I fucking suck at life. I thought a speeding ticket I got some time ago needed to be paid by “March 20.” No… it was March 7. I’m an idiot and just read it wrong. So, yeah, I’m sure there’s a benchmark out for my arrest or some shit tomorrow. I need to call the fucking court tomorrow and try to see if there’s some way I can jet over there on lunch and pay for that shit. Fucking, God.

Wow the SSC is about to be arrested, lord have mercy!

btw my biceps are always sore, it’s a good feeling.

duuuude that’s why I’m anal about that shit… I’ll double and triple check the ticket, set an alarm/reminder, anything so I dont forget. lololol don’t forget to NOT bring MJ with you to the courthouse k?

Lolz yes I am

and moral of the story…

don’t get tickets mother fuckers…such a waste of money. I know…

Hardy har, you guys r so funnee.

I got fucking LUCKY and apparently today was day 7/7 of my amnesty period. Had I not called or anything, the bench warrant, fines, etc would have been issued. I did have to drive up to Boulder at my lunch break and deal with that shit, though. Whatever, I ain’t even pissed. And no, I smoked AFTERWARDS fry.

So, a few interesting things to note before discussing my workout.

 • Apparently the “Smith” I’ve been using is a Bodycraft Jones Machine. It’s different, but awesome. I would recommend.

 • One of the regulars at Armbrust, good sized fella about my age, came up to me today while my training partner was doing his sets on triceps. Said “So… how big did you use to be?” Told him and apparently he use to be fat as well. Told me he lost about 100 lbs, and he saw me in the locker room one day and all the loose skin and stuff. Talked about how big of a bummer it was. But, he did tell me to talk to Dylan Armbrust about maybe getting hooked up with a Dr. Wolf(fe?,) who apparently does work for like everyone at Armbrust. Said there could be a deal cut or something, too. Very, very interesting and cool.

 • Diet has been much improved as of late. I’m still recovering physically from my, like, 2-week bingefest, but I’m getting a heck of a lot closer. I’m eating right around 2,000 calories a day, too. What’s hilarious is I’m pretty content throughout much of the day only eating that much, as I was going extreme/RFL-type numbers some weeks ago. So, I figure I’ll be getting back to the 200 lb range by early next week (NO desire to cheat this weekend… at all,) and be able to hold that for a while while I keep bumping up calories and getting a feel for how much I need to not get fat while on this DC shit.

 • Some prick was fucking around on the goddamn Jones for fucking, like literally 20 minutes when we got to the gym. Decent sized, decent strength but the shit he was doing made no goddamn sense. W/e. Wasn’t THAT big or strong, really.

K.

Chest / Shoulders / Triceps / Back Width / Back Thickness

Low-Incline Jones
165 x 9 + 4 + 3 = 16
50 lb chest stretches

Jones High Incline Press (Very difficult for some reason, reps rather low. Think I went with a higher incline this time. Might bump back down next session, IDK.)
150 x (7+1) + 3 + 2 = 12
Shoulder stretch

Overhead Tricep Extension Machine
245 x 13 + (5+1) + 3 = 21 (Cool.)
25 lb tricep stretches… still figuring these out.

V-Grip Pulldowns
140 x 11 + 5 + 4 = 20 (Money)

DB Meadows Rows
110 x 10 (EZ)
95 x 15 (EZer)
Lat Stretch

Then 30 minutes of incline walking on a treadmill.

Doing FMC every day, that’s good.

Cool story bruuuuuu.
