Anatomy of a Drug Bust

Howdy all!

I just had the good fortune to become friends with a member of our local SWAT team - LOL! He doesn’t juice or anything, but he’s pretty cool (not that you have to juice to be cool.)

So anyway, we’re sucking down a few beers at his house and I ask him what it’s like doing a drug bust on a place.

First, they have to get a warrant. In order to get a warrant, they need to have probable cause. Probable cause can usually be found in your garbage, which can legally be seized (by anyone) once you kick it out to the curb.

So there’s a few amps/syringes/empty baggies with drug residue in your garbage and they get a warrant. The next step is kicking down your door (they might ring the bell if you’re lucky) and then the team will secure your house and make sure all occupants are “under control.”

Then 6 or 7 guys, maybe a dog or two, will search your place from top to bottom taking a couple hours to do so.

The moral to the story: Watch what you throw in the trash.

Warhorse… very nice post! It’s the little details that always seem to get overlooked. Very good advice!

very good advice bro. but, there are some things i would like to add. my bro in-law is a 20 year state police vet. narcotics devision. he actually sets alot of the busts up and serves in a supervisor type role for busts and wire taps. he is also very liberal minded about steroid use. we talk openly all the time about it. of course he doesnt ask and i dont tell about usage. anyways, searches are not an open ended type of thing. the police cannot search outside the perameter of the warrant. in other words, if your steroids are lets say inside a car parked in the garage, that may be outside the warrant if not specified. also, most dogs, if any, are not trained to detect steroids. he admits flat out that the police dont persue the average “personal user”. he sited the fact that there were 2 busts. count them. 2 busts, in this state last year for this type violation. they are much more interested on “higher profile” busts and “hardcore drugs” i am not suggesting that anyone let down there guard, but we dont need to be paranoid either. just dont place huge orders for half your gym while throwing many thousands of dollars around. keep things small and discrete. on another note, he was actually a member of the team that busted kevin levrone. he was having his gear sent to his 60 year old mothers house.

if i see a cop in my garbage can im shootin him!

Kind of fucked up when you think about it. How many times has somebody walked by and just threw something away in somebody else garbage can. Hopefully they would not find anything else in your house, that is why they sell Diversion safes.

As of the writing of Legal Muscle by Rick Collins in 2002, there were no drug dogs in the US able to detect gear.

You’re right guys, there are no steroid sniffing dogs that I’ve heard of, though God knows if they ever caught a whiff of Proline EQ they’d know something was up - LOL!

My post was not meant to be steroid specific, it was just explaining how they take down a drug house - but obviously some of it is applicable.

Rick Collin’s book has much more in depth info, and there are a couple articles here (interviews with Rick) that you can read to get a taste.

lmao pdog. thats a good way to stop them.
