Anaconda Q: Why not SWF, Anaconda & SWR?

Searched, couldnt find the answer - just wondering why Surge Workout Recovery was ditched? Wouldnt the following protocol make more sense?

-30 SWF
-20 1/4 Anaconda
-5 1/4 Anaconda
0-Workout End 1/2 Anaconda
+0 Post WO - SWR

What do you mean by Surge Workout Recovery? Are you referring to Surge Workout Fuel or Surge Recovery?

I believe CT has recently stated that he no longer recommends an insulin spike post-workout due to the increased catecholamines in your system following weight training. From my understanding these elevated levels can block your insulin response.

Christian and Bill have both recently presented protocols for those who prefer to use Surge Recovery in combination with Anaconda.

I recommend checking CT’s forum and the Anaconda Protocol User’s Forum.

i did search saw alot of references to using SWF instead of FiniBars & incorporating SR during workout. Been reading up on catecholamines since my OP, looks like i missed a meeting & the new protocol replaces PWO shake with Anaconda (or SR) during workout & a meal 60mins after workout instead.

Had one of those aha! moments - the point of post-WO carbs is replenish & supercompensate what was lost/used during the workout - if you’ve spiked insulin before & during, postWO carbs are hardly going to benefit too…

i tried the Anaconda protocol for a pure strength day and liked it!! but i’m usually into ross enamait (strength is good but conditioning is king) training so a consistent state of entry and lactate buffering, along with a great recovery plan are my priorities. so there is coffee with coconut oil, fish oil TID, CoQ10, and ribose, etc.

but for T-Nation stuff i love the new Surge @ 1 scoop pre-workout (another peri-workout too, if i am at the gym and able to get it in), with Anaconda and MAG10 (1 scoop each) being my recovery drink. it’s been really awesome. i’ve tried creatine, raisins, and whey in water before but this is a lot better. can’t speak for the exact science; just my body experience is matching what is written on the label =)

when i get home (half hour drive) it’s usually another 2 scoops of whey in water and i’ll get around to whole food pretty soon (probably like you, @ the 60 minute window). i’m going to keep with the no carbs post since it’s working great. let us know how your experiment goes.

my afternoon of reevaluating all i know workout nutrition has lead me to find glycerol monostearate. i think ill use it PWO…
