So my question is this . . . Any thoughts in general? . . should I leave it alone or subtract some of the fats (reluctant to do that as most of it is from GOOD fat) . . or finally leave it alone and just have maybe like 2 more shakes.
leave the fats where they are and add in two shakes wherever they fit during the day. the extra protein can only help you and if not, its not like they’ll hurt you.
Cool bud . . I usually have 2 shakes during the day and then some casein at night so I’ll either add another scoop to my shakes or just space 2 more in some place . . . but first I have to rid myself of this cold . . grrrrrr

Does anyone do HIIT work on AD? I have a econo-prowler that I was pushing before while carb cycling. Is it ok to sprint with it 2-3x per week? Should I take in some carbs before like maybe 30g from surge or something? I hear a lot of negativity about doing sprints while low carb.
Anyone have any tips on this? Sorry to bump it up again, but I’m suppose to prowler sprint today with my buddy. Thanks guys!
I personally have not done well with HIIT cardio on this plan but not to say you won’t. I think it was Eric Minor did an article recently on Sprint work and he kept it to twice a week. I’m not sure when you should do it but you may want to do one on your first carb-up day and then possibly the 2nd day after your carb-ups just so you have enough energy to get through it. Prowler pushing is probably fine unless you’re doing some kind of sprinting with that too. Perhsp you do Sprint work on the first day after your carb-up and then Prowler work the day before your carb-ups? Don’t know, you’ll need a little experimentation.

3000mg ester-C a day
Yeah, that’s what I do too. I actually spread it out a little though, not sure if it matters. I take 2grams in the morning and then 1gram at night. I also take a Vitamin B complex. If other people at work are sick I might do an EmergenC at mid-day.

do any of you guys notice getting…err…softer? during the induction phase? usually i lean out really fast on the AD but this time i upped fats a bit higher in the form of olive oil and eggs, and it seems im gaining some pudge around the waist :s
how many cals were you at last time and how many cals are you at this time?
no idea. all i know is that this time around im using alot more “dirty” sources such as sausages and hamburgers. its just so convenient to grab a fast food burger (or 4) and toss out the buns. same with sausages. and upped olive oil to 3 tblsp per meal. id estimate my calories were up near 4000 a day with a body weight of 195-200.
im going to have to do the induction phase over though, as i cheated twice already due to social outings. i dont mind at all as i prefer this way of eating anyway. carb ups were over the weekend so it’ll all balance out in future anyway once i do the 2 week induction.
Hmm? sort of like my above post as I eat a ton of the sausages from Wal-Mart but next week I will cut them out and up my shakes as my new protein has almost NO carbs so it will clean my diet up just a tad. . . as for the FATS I to thought that but the AD God’s are saying to leave THAT fat alone, thus why I’m going to try and clean up a bit of my ugly fats . . yet again this is the joy of this diet the “experimental” part because as much as the gains and all that are very important but if your not enjoy the ride you will burn out . . the way I look at it, every time I eat I get excited as I think I’m just that much closer to my overall goal by eating ON time and eating right . . keep us posted
YAWN!!! . . .Quadzilla is I think on the mend . . feeling better for the most part so I’ll hit it hard today once I wake up . . . still not sure where my quads are though Monday’s punishment but the police are out looking . . lol . . time to make up for my slight slacking off yesterday . . I have to have a good week of training this week as next week I might miss a few days as I’m on vacation and then off to watch the World Championships . .
I actually had a question but my brain fell asleep so I’ll post again after my tea lol but it feel good to mentally be back in the game, I’m never down for more than a day.

I’ve had no problem throwing in some sprints. I do some intervals sprints as a warmup before squating. Then do some sprints on Fridays after I deadlift. Granted these aren’t 40min sprinting sessions…

just to clarify, i wasnt recommending you take the sausage out and replace with shakes.
in example, if youre eating 4500 cals a day, ADD in 2 shakes just for the protein so you would be at approx 4750 cals per day and your macros would be a bit closer to the original guidelines.
so basically do what you’re doing and have an extra scoop of whey in the AM and another in the PM

lol yes I got that but I forgot to add in my above post that I will try the extra protein first and see how that goes first and if not then I’ll clean it up a bit.
All I know is I had a small mid-week carb up and feel so much better already even if it is just mental thing.
As with any experiment its trial and error so for now I’m just keeping an eye on my body in general I’m trying to go about 10 pounds above my comp weight and then go from there and all I know is my body fat is STILL a lot less then what it normally is this time of year so over all I’m still very, very happy . . shhhhh but usually by now Off Season I’m in and around 24% and I’m nowhere near that right now thus why I love the AD so much . .

My goal is not to gain too much bf% with this too! Been doing fasted hill walk every morning so far per MODOK’s recommendation and I can see how it is helping. What bf% are most of you carrying around nowadays while on AD? I know Dr. D himself say it’s possible to maintain 10% even while bulking

i dumped the sausages and made my fat sources primarily olive oil and nuts. i feel a lot better and less bloated without all that sodium too. ive been reading some dave palumbo stuff and i need to get my hands on some more macadamia nut oil, as he recommends it as a fat source over olive oil when it comes to putting it in your shakes.

fixed ;)
lol i use it to fry my eggs in. sometimes i just eat it with a spoon too. but because i use cold water for my shakes the coconut oil just solidifies and clumps up in my shakes, so i use olive or mac nut oil instead.
also sometimes use a spoonful before workouts, thinking the MCTs will give me some quick energy.

what do you guys do when you slip up?
edit: carb up is on sundays…
Hmmm? NOPE! Never happened WE are perfect!!! lol!!!
OK Seriously . . lol . . As the good book states the longer your on the AD the more forgiving it is. So as long as you go right back to the high fat/protein low carb routine the following day “I” think all should be OK.
For myself I lower my cals the next day a bit and try to really cut the carbs . . not sure if it helps or not but in my little world I think the lower carbs forces my body to look for and burn more of the junk I ate yesterday.
You could also think of it as a mid-week carb up and just limit your Sunday carb up to maybe a carb up lunch or something along those lines. . . but honestly I don’t think your body will fall apart and switch back that fast . . just my thoughts . . I’m on vacation all next week and already thinking of how I’m going to wing the whole week

Yep Perfect! Maybe Infallible…
Phhh, NOT. I slipped slightly last night myself. I had 2 Michelob Ultras… It fit in my percentages but still not what I wanted to do.
You’ll be ok, you’ve been trucking for a while on AD.
