Anabolic Diet

@Quadzilla:

I agree with MAF14 on the overpriced eggs. I get 2 and a half dozen for around 4 bucks. Do they have “Sam’s” in Canada?

Gentlemen . . Gentlemen I could NOT agree with you more but it is what it is. Just for 500 ml of 35% table cream I’m paying 3.75. I watch out for sales but it doesn’t help much and like I sadly said IF I were to leave the AD it would only because I can’t afford to sink my little boat just to look good lol

Now as for SAM’s . . Hmmmm? Don’t think so and if there is they are not popular. Wal-Mart is our saviour but the 14% tax on everything kills us too. I even looked into buying beef in bulk but it worked out to the same price as Wal-Mart. EVOO at WM is $6 for the cheapest stuff you can find . . so in saying all that what is a mutant like Quadzilla to do? lol

Like I said even if I give up trying to gain mass on this I will stick with the lifestyle because before the AD I used to suffer really bad with muscle pain for days after training (over the years I have tried everything and nothing really helped that much)BUT since the AD WOW!!! what an improvement almost none.

So like I said guys its not that I’m trying to be cheap and just bitching but for the amount of $$ I’m spending on food I could just do a cycle and eat my old diet and gain twice as much but that is like comparing an apple to an orange and I know that but still . . .

Anywaysssss . . . I will be starting my extreme variance’s probably this weekend soooo any yummy carb up drink concoctions?

wow… canada really does suck

hmm in regards to getting more protein in, you could always buy like a 25-50 lb bag from a bulk distributor in the US

i only know one in particular but there must be at least a few others…

Just out of curiosity Quadzilla, what was your old diet like? How many more carbs were you eating?

Btw, has anybody noticed any changes in the smell of their farts? My farts on this diet smell absolutely hideous.

Well I’ll be honest “Off Season” It was a very lose diet and I have never really tracked everything just my protein and eat somewhat clean most of the time then very clean getting ready for a comp. . . but in answer to your question I would eat about 3 cups or more a day in rice.

I loved rice and then I would have mixed veggies as well along with different breads. . . Yes I would gain fat in the process but then during the cutting phase all came together. Always had the “Beefy” look off season. . . eh who knows . . all is good . . not worried either way

Problem with our great country is when stuff gets to the boarder if its not seized then they tax it so bad your not saving anything . . . );

Question: Is there a limit as to how much EVOO you can take a day? I have even started adding it to my shakes with my flax oil and 2 tbsp on all my meals

I bet I know what you’re eating on the weekends for extreme variance!

The good book suggest that when you start to keep your cals the same just keep under 30 g a day for carbs and then fill the rest of the cals with high protein/fat then make adjustments after your body has made the metabolic shift.
Cool thanks. By the way FitDay.com is awesome for tracking calories, it’ll make the anabolic diet a hell of a lot easier to follow.
I know what your talking about . . . I used Myfitness Pal on my Iphone and I couldn’t do this diet without it. I plug it all in the night before and make adjustments if needed super easy.

OK now that was funny . . . I was having one of those days at work, logged on and saw that pic and it really made me laugh so TY buddy . . . now as for “Got Rice?” lol . . Yes my wonderful GF is Spanish and aside from cooking carb central on the weekends rice is a staple.

Going to see if she will pose next to my rice cooker for a pic in her birthday suit like above . . . and “YES” I’ll post it guys if she does lol

Other than that not much to report but I have like I said started adding 2 tbsps of EVOO to my shakes. I have a very full feeling most of the time but I think I just might be “UP” this week (: but time will tell.

Going to Google later to see if its possible to take in to much EVOO in a day . . .

No problems to report on keeping the carbs under 30 at 4500, Hell once my current tub of protein is finished it will be even lower. I have to shakes a day and that adds up to 8 carbs. As of late my norm for the day is 28g so with my new protein it will be more like 21g total for the day . . . life is good.

Times is ticking away for the extreme variances mass shake on the weekend . . .

Whole Milk, peanut butter, yogurt, EVOO, flax oil, quick oats, fruit of some sort, protein and chocolate Quick for taste . . . I might not fit through the door come Monday but its an experiment lol So if my fingers are to fat to type come Monday or I blow up . . . it was nice chatting with everyone lol . . .have a great day all

OK one quick question: do to the high protein intake from steak and all that do you guys think there is any real advantage to taking creatine? . . I normally do but I’m almost out and not sure if I should bother picking more up or not. I usually use a Kre-Akylen creatine. . . what do you guys use if you do use?

regarding putting oats in the super shake, i wouldnt if you’re going for total carbs.

actually might not affect you (not the case with me) but you might be better of with a less bulky carb source just so you can get more of it down

EDIT: most of those are fairly high fat. is that what you’re going for, just cals?

i just buy basic creatine mono and take 5 grams a day then maybe 10-20 on my carb load day. i wouldnt spend the extra money on kre-alkalyn or whatever. i think theyre basically the same just called differently for marketing

As always TY for the input . . OK now as for the quick oats it never have been a real problem for me. I used this super shake a while ago and did well . . now in saying all this . . . as my past posts have stated that I’m trying this as a last resort to try and gain as I’m just not gaining the 1 - 2 pounds a week. My old diet was not as taxing on the old pocket book but was not this good either (feeling of well being and energy). So its a hard call really but I’m totally open to suggestions for a super carb shake. As it stands now I have to ingest 9000 cals a day on the carb up as the good book says to double your daily intake. . . . again any suggestions for my super shake are welcome my friend.

Now as for the Kre-Alkalyn I like that type because it doesn’t break down to creatin like mono can.

But as I said before the fun of this diet is the experimenting part and I can’t stress enough TY for the feedback good or bad . . I have big shoulders so I can take either lol

BTW: With regards to my super shake I was toying around with the idea of taking a weight gainer like Mutant Mass (instead) but never been a fan of them but if I were to ever try one again I think I would consider that one . . . feedback . . super shake or weight gainer?

How much is Mutant Mass there? Usually home made weight gainers tend to be cheaper. But I guess it depends on where you live.

Around $74 for 15 pounds

BTW have you read the article where Dave tate talks about gaining weight at Westside? He basically is completely stuck, and gets advice from a more experienced training partner. The guy tells him to take a big pizza and just drench it in olive oil, and then eat it (obviously lol). I dunno how well that would fit into the AD macros, but its something to think about.

Basically if you are having a really tough time adding stuff in order to gain weight… I think you might need to just go crazy man. At least temporarily.

lol . . lol . . Well hence the extreme variances carb up coming up very soon . . lol . . Yes I know with fat comes a bit of muscle so I’m not so worried about the extra fat as I KNOW how to lose weight on this diet NOOOOOOO problem.

So any more feedback on weight gainers over food anyone? . . but yes ape crazy is the proto call for this weekend

@MAF14: really looking forward to your feedback on the above . . because Mutant Mass has a lot less fat and all that and is a Hell of a lot easier to make.

well the only thing i would say about the shake is fat is OK but it mind end up filling you quicker - in your experience is tat the case?

oh and even if you wanna throw in table sugar just for extra cals/carbs i think that would be fine. obviously doing that every day wouldnt be so great health-wise but i assume its fine for your carb ups.

before i started cleaning up my carb ups, i would have milk shakes from semi low-fat ice creams, jam/jelly was like 50 cals per 2 TBSP, krisp kreme donuts etc…

but if fat + carb combo’s dont fill you up, go for it.

MODOK said when he was in his real into bulking on the AD, he would have pizza, snickers bars and whatever else he wanted

anyway i dont think 2 days a week of eating junk food is going to do any damage to your health if you’re not on your way to obesity
