Anabolic Diet

Grrr! So I bounce out of bed this morning for the official weigh in to see how progress is going. I expected that if nothing else my BF would be up slightly because of the wagon fall on Tuesday. However, yet again that is NOT the case still holding at the same weight and BF.

As my previous posts show my fat is higher than the suggested guideline and yet my body stays the same (lean).

I know this is not a problem but I honestly don’t think I could afford to eat any more M - F.

I really thought I would be up this week as I slacked big time on my training and NO my scale is not broke.

So I have been reading the good book and have a question more feedback on something. It falls under the extreme variances. In light of really not adding weight and due to my financial limitations I was thinking of going ballistic on the weekend and see if that helps. Now this will be hard as I going pretty crazy now so I was thinking of maybe adding and I’m not a fan of this stuff (thus asking for feedback) but adding a weight gainer with milk and cream on top of my usual carb up stuff.

Or should I slowly go off the AD for a bit and go back to my normal “Off Season” diet then use the AD to cut and save the mass I gain. This would really suck as I feel so great on the AD but I’m a PL not a BB and I need the mass off season to add weight to the bar and its just not coming.

Soooo feedback . . . option one or option two . . any feelings on this?

I would just say, eat more. You can try splitting your carbups from the weekends to 1 weekday and 1 weekend day.

Anybody take Spike pills, HOT-ROX Extreme before workout? Would something like HOT-ROX negatively affect the AD?

i dont see why it would. a slightly elevated metabolism has been shown to increase protein synthesis. i take pre-workouts and never noticed anything bad

Hell, give extreme variance a try. I’ve never tried it. Find a little 10$ all you can eat in your neighborhood and go buck. I’d like to hear your experiences with this mainly b/c I was thinking of trying it soon.

If that doesn’t work you could start working in a mid week carb up.

Well all I know is above on next page I posted my normal give or take day in my diet and I have upped it since then. So I will give it one more week at my new cal limit but honestly this is the best diet ever but in the same breath the most expensive diet I have ever been on and that is the only reason that I’m thinking of either just excepting a super lean body and cutting back on my enormous food bill and giving up on trying to gain any real mass.

Now yes before I totally abort the diet I will give the extreme variances a go.

I did start mid-week carb up one meal like the good book states and still by Saturday weigh in zip back to normal. And honestly with a daily intake of 74%+ fat I find it amazing I’m not gaining something and my protein is usually in the high 200.

But yes I think drinking a few million cals on the weekend might be something I’ll try and keep everyone posted.

@Quadzilla4425: Man I agree. The cost can get out of hand sometimes. I’ve been looking around for sales and shopping at Sam’s to keep the bill low. Last week I found some chicken breast for sale for $1.68 a pound. Needless to say I bought around 25 pounds. Sam’s carries some First Cold Pressed, imported from Italy EVOO in 3 liter dark glass bottles for very very cheap. Also the Sam’s brand of Fish Oil is a bargain. I’m sure you already know this stuff… Don’t forget to buy eggs in bulk!

… As a side note… It’s been pissing me off lately when the obese lady behind the register sees my weekly 5 dozen eggs and has the nerve tell me to get my cholesterol checked.

Edit: I’ve been spending around 55-60 bucks a week.

lol Now that is to funny and I’ll trade you food bills my friend!!! Dude at 4000 cals a day my food bill last month was I think like $410 . . no joke! but I just found out that were probably going on strike on September 19th so as I sit here and eat my pork shoulder and eggs and ponder the food bill and say self “I think its time to cut back till the smoke clears” Totally blows buddy!!! But we do what we have to do to survive and then come back stronger later on.

Either way I’ll still be on the AD just a lot less cals starting next food shopping . .

Read a few of the posts on here been awhile since I added anything. As fasr as off the wagon goes I here you there bros. I’ve been managing 3 projects and had some family vacations the last month so I fell off a bit too. The real shity thing is once you find the right workout program for youreself and really get rolling on AD you have awsome gains & if you fall off the wagon they can go away twice as fast. Im starting my the 12day phase over today its really not that bad just make food that tastes good.
Heard some dudes having problems with prices on food. Eggs, burger, olive oil, pork all cheap in USA
Someone else said the fat ass clerk at the store gives them crap. Me too plus all my relatives. People just don’t get it. Fuck em Let them stick to salads and grilled chicken breasts its just more steak and eggs for us

Well in my defence it’s not so much the price of food that is killing me just the amount I have to consume to gain weight, that’s why it’s getting expensive. However, even 18 eggs on sale is still $4 and good sausages are $9 for like 10.

And as for the fat chic at the counter . . I agree screw her . . walk up to her Mooo and flap your arms like a chicken and scream “Long live the Anabolic Diet!” . .snort and pick up your change with your mouth and I’m sure she will never talk to you again . . lol

Ok so I’ve been on this diet now for nearly two weeks - in other words, I’m nearing the end of the induction phase. I seriously can’t wait for the carb up. I’ve gone down from 210lb from when I started, to 202lb (where I’m at now). I’ll be using this diet to lose fat first, and then gain mass afterwards. I feel like I’ve lost fat already. I also feel kind of weak. I probably should have had more calories in general during this induction phase.

Why do people find this diet expensive though? I imagine you could just add olive oil shots and more heavy cream if you have trouble gaining weight. Neither of them are THAT expensive. My grocery bill is about the same as it was when I was carb cycling.

Yes the carb ups are fun and you will have NO problems losing weight on this diet. Now as for the MASS part well to keep your protein HIGH not just FAT it does get expensive at 4500 cals a day. YES EVOO does help but it doesn’t increase your protein level so to keep in the needed range of this diet just adding fat will not help. Call me cheap but $375 - $410 for one persons food in one month is a bit much lol

All the same this diet rocks!

I think I am going to do this diet after the V Diet, currently on the 2 week transition phase. For the introductory phase of the anabolic diet it recommends BWx18, but right now I am taking in on average 2,000 calories a day on the V Diet transition phase. Depending on my weight after the V Diet, now I am at 188, that would call for 3,384 calories/day.

I plan on using the anabolic diet at first to probably drop a few more pounds and then to slowly add on the muscle while minimizing fat gain. Anyways, since I am already at a low caloric intake, do you see a problem in starting with, say, 2,500 calories/day for the first 12 days and go from there?

The good book suggest that when you start to keep your cals the same just keep under 30 g a day for carbs and then fill the rest of the cals with high protein/fat then make adjustments after your body has made the metabolic shift.

Cool thanks. By the way FitDay.com is awesome for tracking calories, it’ll make the anabolic diet a hell of a lot easier to follow.

18 eggs for 4 dollars?!

youre getting ripped off

18 eggs are 2.07 at my local walmart

EDIT: what type/size eggs are you buying?

Lol wal-Mart is the only place I shop. Food is expensive I guess in Canada eh?! Lol

And I buy either extra large or large but still eggs are great but low in cals. Everything is expensive here. He’ll protien is like $80 for 5 pounds for ISO Flex by All-Max. Gas is back up to $1.34 a liter and it goes from there )-:

Is it okay to just count net carbs on the anabolic diet?
