You are sooooooooooooooo close
your bodyweight will get there and take your
PR’s with it.

drywall tub.

Recovery/prehab
Diesel Crew shoulder thingies
aka YTWL+rear laterals+ski pumps
Kettle stack swings.

Hams and ass are tight-ish.

Ill quote one of the kids from the combat forum

Bench
135x8
155x5
185x5
215x3
235x4,3,2,2
3 board press
255x4,4,3,3,3
Close grip bench
175 3x8
Tate DB press
45’s 3x8
Shoulder feeling more solid but still weak on right side. Lost a rep or two on straight bench due to a bunch of running into the squat rack supports on the way down. kicked me out of the groove. Doesn’t matter. Board press went okay and the tricep assistance work went well. This knocked me down good though. Ready for bed.
Good work Skid. Looks like you are coming back strongly

Great job!
bench and 3-board look pretty good, especially with a gimpy shoulder. keep up the rehab/prehab, and you’ll be good as new by meet day.
When is meet day?
OL
Thanks Jimmy!
Shoulder’s a little less gimpy. I think it actually changed my groove last night as I was using my tricep more. I think I actually lost reps because I was able to put more of the weight on the weak side and it took a little longer to fail as it was. So it’s looking good, really. Don’t think I’ll make my goals for bench in the comp, but I’ll take any improvement in function…
Meet day is Feb 28th.
lots of good things can happen in a month!

Rack Pull (6" below knee)
475x3,3,2 (+10lbs )
(lost concentration on the last set and folded on rep 3)

Ab Wheel from knees

Good session. The supplement I’m taking made a difference I think.
I’m gonna have to give up on guys in my gym. They keep asking me the same questions and then doing the same old thing they’ve always done.
“How long did it take you to be able to lift that much weight?”
“4 years, but I was doing it wrong for half of that.”
“How do you gain weight?”
“Um…eat?”
“How do you lose fat?”
“Dunno. Never been so. I’ve read some stuff, but I’ve never had to do it.”
“Doesn’t that hurt your back?”
“Yes - but it also makes it stronger.”
“I don’t think I could do that…”
“You’re probably right.”
Feh.
Yeah - it’s frickin’ hard work. Don’t waste my time asking questions about it if you don’t want to do it.
Wait til you get the “I wouldn’t be doing that at your age”. Love reading your thread, Skid. Impressed by the way you stick to your plan. Can’t wait for your meet.

just put those blinders on and do your own thing. I get questions like that all the time. i usually don’t answer them. i just give a long, vacant stare and then they give a little nervous laugh and slowly walk away.
Looking strong as ever. I’m looking forward to seeing what you put up at this meet. Any record breaking going to occur?

I’d rather not talk about that, actually. Instead, I’d like you to look at the APA (Home - APA-WPA POWERLIFTING) raw numbers for the 45-49 year age group 198 class, look at what I’m lifting and draw your own conclusion.
that rotator cuff cycle is doing some good stuff. I’ve been doing two cycles as warmup. The hardest part comes at the end with the prone overhead press. By the time you get there the ten pound dumbbells feel a lot heavier.
It’s weird how the littlest muscles can hurt as much- if not more - than the big ones.
Buying a lamb today for my freezer. Got a line on some free-range chicken too.
