Close Sup grip Pull downs
265x5,3 (kicked out - gym closed)
Guess I’ll do some volume DB rows and some curls tomorrow. Clean and jerk kinda used me up. Left brachialis is kicking up a fuss.
Standing press was really strong tonight. Looking forward to the rack presses next assistance day.
Edit: Brachioradialis - not brachialis. Probably from having to catch the weight after the jerks and presses. Each first rep on presses was cleaned from the floor and returned to the floor a end of set. Might’ve gotten more reps had I taken it from a rack. Who knows?
Felt good. Needed some volume stuff. Kept the shoulder blade squinched on the rows to make the teres muscles work harder. They’re slacked out due to mouse work.
Eight weeks a sleep and a sock change away. You’re going in with a clear idea as to how things happen this time. There is nothing like getting the feel for things.
So crunch those numbers big guy, eat lots and get your rest. Stay strong and focused the world is your’s!
1-board manpon
245x3 (easy)
265x3 (also easy)
275x1,2,1,1,1 (suddenly not so easy?)
245x3
Speed Bench
145x29 (PR weight)
Lying Triceps Extensions
90x10
110x8
130x6,6
French Press
90x8
Cable Flyes
80 2x10 *why do these make the BACKS of my shoulders hurt?)
Good session, though I was hoping for more on the manpon
Edit: Looking back, I seem to be losing my top end. Good for one rep maybe two whereas I had been good for a triple previously. Time to back off and rep out. Seems to be working for my overhead press: 1 heavy+light session, one 25-rep+no supplemental movement session. Think I’ll try it on bench day too.
Shoulders are whining a bit. Maybe time to lift in the little girls’ section.

Ha ha! Don’t know about the world, but hopefully a total
Hey, isn’t Jackass’ (Mark Bell) gym in Excremento, too? just looked it up. Super Training. have you ever paid a visit on those guys? they seem reasonably hardcore…
BTW, I call 3 wheels on your bench in February. You can do it!
ol
Mark Bell showed up at my last comp in september. He looks a lot bigger in person than he does on video.
Edit: I’ve also met Scott “Hoss” Cartwright, or seen him rather. My son did competitive gymnastics last year and he ended up competing against one of Mr. Cartwright’s boys on a regular basis throughout the meet season. Last I saw him he was wearing a t-shirt that said “I see weak people” a la The Sixth Sense. Mr. Cartwright picture should stand as the definition of “wide” in the dictionary…
/edit
Thanks mjnewland. I need to back off a bit to go forward right now I think. 3 wheels is ambitious, but might be possible.
Is that our elusive Mr. Mark in his avatar? The stocky fellow performing the forgotten “super-bike farmers walk”? Nice workouts lately, Get ready to kick some ass in Feb…

That’s the Strongman Mikhail Koklayev. He does screwy strength stuff just for fun. One would almost get the impression that he LIKES being strong. Weirdo.
Thanks for the encouragement, Z-man. Be cool to see you posting more…<hint, hint>

Going to clean grip the sumos until I get all sets. Need to get faster on sumos. Fastest set was #6, form was off on first 5 sets. Last 2 sets were shite - all wobbly and unbalanced though I was still fast.
