Merckx raced back in the day when drug testing wasn’t as strict as today which more than likely helped him win so many races. Although I agree he is the best cyclist of all time.

Dan, when and where did Carl Lewis go on record that he used roids? I’m very curious, because I always remember him as being especially adamant that he didn’t use, and even went so far as to imply that others that beat him or came close to it were using.
He declared it this year in the news. It kind of re-sparked the Ben Johnson controversy in Canada. Have no precise sources, but when a number of radio stations and papers say it all at the same time, it’s not a joke.
