Amrstrong 5x Tour De France winner!

This guy amazes me and is a amazing athlete he wins the Tour de France again. Unbelievable!

“I’m not coming back (next year) to get second or to lose, but rather to return to a level that I had for the first four victories. This year was not acceptable.”

~Lance Armstrong

The guy wins the toughest, most grueling bike race of them all and says that his performance was unacceptable.

Damn, sounds like something I’d say.

Lance kicks ass.

Yeah I was going to post something on this. He’s an amazing athlete whether he wins or not but it looks like he is going to win. They should do studies on him, seems like beating cancer made him even more capable. Is it the big heart or some sort of super human abilities from beating cancer?

Lance is awesome. The epitome of courage under fire.

RS, well, think about it this way.

After overcoming cancer, everything else would seem like small peas. Including riding an average of 100 miles a day for 2 weeks averaging 40 km/h throughout the whole race.

the legends…

I wants to see him win 6 TDF. I hope he races next year and get 6! I agree with Chris if you can beat cancer everythingelse is small peas!!! Once I get past this disease I would be unstoppable also!

He’s the best that’s ever been.

Fitone, all peas are small. The phrase is “small potatoes”.

I do it for the pain - Lance Armstrong

I love that quote!

Char, peas are small too.

DocT
“A fuckin flag waving American”

char, I said small peas first.

Ever since Poliquin quoted that cyclists were the most juiced up athletes, I have never been able to see them as that wonderful. Sure, what the guy did is in the ‘beyond’ league for most mortals, but I’ll never admire him as much as I would admire a William Wallace (Braveheart). The juice quote taints the aura.

Irondoc,
Nice quote. “There goes Roy Hobbes, the best there ever was.”

Peas are smaller than potatoes.

Lance rules!!!

Often on this particular site, we forget that athletes come in all sorts of sizes and specialties. The Tour was certainly a wake up call of sorts.

You just look at these guys, some of who weigh 145lbs (at 5’10"), and just see what they’re capable of. Amazing. Utterly amazing.

But while Lance is just an incredible athlete; mind popping incredible, the argument of “who’s the best ever” has now begun. Merckx, I believe is the rightful owner of that title, IMO.

However, Lance is truly a athlete that can be looked upon as a role-model. What a incredible accomplishment; in the 100-years of the Tour, only two men now have been able to win 5 in a row. Only two. I can’t even fathom what it would be like to ride even 2-miles of the Tour; Ha! even just a mile of that first mountain stage.

He doesn’t even mention his battle with cancer; since that’s a battle that has come and gone. Only the media brings that up - I didn’t hear one peep of his dealings with cancer during his interviews. He’s already even moved onto next year’s Tour. The man is in constant motion towards the next challenge.

“Ever since Poliquin quoted that cyclists were the most juiced up athletes, I have never been able to see them as that wonderful.”

Lance is the most drug-tested athlete on this planet period. He’s not juicing. They would’ve found something by now.

Unless he’s got chemists that are one step in advance of detection methods.

Fuck, even Carl Lewis never got detected and still admitted it. To the richer go the spoils. And judges can be bought, too. A small price to pay if you want to go down in history.

Ever the cynic =0)

Woups. Ever the skeptical.
