First of all: Do you know the difference between ammonia and acetone?
Second of all: Search. There is a thread called something like “low carb and ammonia smell” (turned out to be mostly acetone, but some ammonia cases) and there’s another one here:
in which a guy got rid of his ammonia smell by supplementing with citrulline (very simply put: ammonia scavenger).

Thanks for your reply. Ive found threat.
Im not sure how to put this, but I dont have the scent in my nose cause anyone could smell it. It’s a very salty pissy smell, somewhat cheesy ![]()
My liver and kidneys seem to be fine according to blood test though
I’ve added 20 grams of maltodextrine before my training and it took a little bit longer for the smell to appear, but after a while it was there again ![]()

Im not sure if that will solve the problem. I’m thinking for a bit and I remember I smelled bad when I was on a high carb diet too. Not as much as I do know, but still very stinking.
I’m gonna buy some L-citrulline next week to see if it’s an ammonia problem as L-citrulline removes ammonia from the body. Maybe I have a built up.
