I’m 19 years old, 6’1 195lbs approx 11-12% bf. I’ve been training since I was 14-15. My current maxes are 315 x 3 box squat, 105 x 5 DB bench. I’ve never done a primarily “hypertrophy” based program before as I’ve played football for the past 4 years and am more familiar with Jim Wendlers 5/3/1 and Joe DeFrancos WS4SB. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Have you read brick’s bodybuilding bible thread?
To quote him: “If you want to get big, why not follow the split the big guys use?”
Try it and see if it works for you.

Plenty of guys who use DC are big.
The dude is asking about DC, you can answer his question or stfu.
I’m tired of seeing threads go down the drain because some people won’t focus on the subject.
Dante usually discourages young lifters from doing the program for a few reasons I won’t necessarily go into.
Can I ask you what is drawing you to that program over others?
I say go for it.
Post your question in the “DC Training” thread, that’s what it’s there for. No need to start new threads on a subject which already has a number of huge threads dedicated to it.

That’s true, at least direct the op to a thread that is related to his question, not to one that ain’t got shit to do.
I’m surprised no one told him that he won’t get good results training just three times a week.
I am amazed that none of you have flat out said NO, you are definitely NOT advanced enough to do this advanced program.

Ditto. I thought DC was supposed to be a “I’m already a huge motherfucker but I’ve tried every program under the sun, massively increased food intake, and tried just about everything but I still can’t initiate any more gains”-program.
This kid is young and only 195lbs at over 6’, that’s not big at all (no offense OP) and no where near advanced.
I don’t see why you can try DC or any other HIT variation.
I’ve found that this type of training doesn’t work well for long for me, but it might do wonders for you.
I would say you’re not ready for DC, however, I did DC for a while before I was ready and I can’t say I regret it. It taught me how to push myself harder, and the importance of controlling the negative.

I’m looking for a hypertrophy workout as I’ve never done one before and my physique goals have changed. I liked DC because I’ve heard very good things about it and i like the intensity/competing against the logbook idea. If not DC, i would welcome any other hypertrophy program suggestions.

If I’m not ready, do you have another hypertrophy program you would reccomend?
If you mess your shit up, don’t blame the program. But it really is one of those, if you have to ask then no situations.
How about you try some parts of DC first in your regular split, try some of the DC RP stuff, or try the split for a bit with regular ramping sets, etc. Be careful and use common sense with the extreme stretches if you’re going to do them, don’t blame Dante or the program if you fuck your shit up.
Judging by your lifts, I don’t think you’re at a level of strength where you can get the most out of a low-volume high intensity program like that. If you have to ask, IMHO, youre not ready.
I read some of dante’s stuff and he talks about taking people your size and making them gain a shit load of muscle so why not
can you guys suggest a different hypertrphy program that judging by my lifts you would think I was ready for.
